The Advisory Executive is a strategically important role residing in our Global Private Cloud Advisory, reporting to the Vice President. The Advisory Executive will be a trusted advisor to the customer and the internal teams in terms of broad range of technologies and its impact on the business.  The role will drive our blue-print at C-level within customers & partners. Identifying and/or supporting new market opportunities and acting as the external voice of Rackspace, this is an influential position within Global Private Cloud business. Strategically, the Advisory Executive will anticipate future developments and provide technical vision for our customers. Critical Competencies•   20+ years experience in IT and has experience of having done the role previously•   Good understanding of end to end stack covering infrastructure, packaged apps, bespoke app development, data and security•   Strong leadership skills to effectively steer a customer’s technological efforts and developments•   An in-depth understanding of business challenges and objectives across few industries to effectively align technical strategies for the customer•  Excellent organisational skills to successfully coordinate the efforts of the Rackspace teams.•  The ability to think strategically, anticipate future developments and provide technical vision•   A willingness to stay up to date regarding the latest technological advancesKey Responsibilities•    Customers: Initiate and drive relationships with customers at C-level and support/lead/sponsor customer meeting and pitch activity initiated by the sales organization. Understand the key business issues at stake and articulate the Rackspace proposition/response.•    Being able to work as a thought leader (both internally and externally) to help develop a Technology roadmap for customer engagements.•    Build strong external relationships with key customers, technology partners, digital agencies and solution integrators to align strategic requirements with Rackspace products and services.•    Influence customer and target account executives and develop a trusted advisor status, with the aim of effecting decision making and growing key accounts.•    Build strong internal relationships with sales leaders, channel, practice areas and account teams to assist with customer engagements at senior levels.•    Evangelize the Rackspace message by developing a strong thought leadership presence on social media, by authoring whitepaper and blog posts.•    Manage senior level engagements with key partners, meeting on a regular basis to understand alignment with Rackspace.•    Commercial: Lead cross-functional teams during complex contract and sales negotiations with customers and prospects.•    External Communications - ‘Evangelize’ the Rackspace proposition to Customers and Partners.•    Cross Functional: Lead cross-functional teams to drive service and operational process efficiency improvements across the business and increase revenues.Knowledge•    Commensurate experience in the IT industry across various technical, sales, consulting, sales support, and/or technical support roles.•    Strong knowledge of IT Service Management, Service Delivery, ITIL, TOGAF, BSC or ISEB certification preferred.•    Organization, communications (including presentation skills, diplomacy, and influencing), process thinking, directing work through others, initiative, building relationships and trust, and consensus building.•    Experience at presenting at various public speaking events.•    Effective presentation skills with the capacity to articulate value to varying customer audiences ranging from various IT leaders and CxO’s.•    Knowledge of industry metrics and how to positively impact those figures by identifying them in customer and market interactions.•    Highly motivated self-starter and team player.•    Strong consultative selling acumen and demonstrated success in prior roles.•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems preferred.
