The Americas GL Accounting Group is a perfect opportunity for students pursuing a career in accounting with a desire to learn first-hand how a global accounting organization functions on a day-to-day basis. You will have the opportunity to see how the accounting processes and systems work to ensure financial data is accurate and complete.<b>Must have availability to work up to 25 hours a week and up to 30 hours during the summer on Monday through Friday during regular business hours (Between 8am CDT and 6pm CDT) </b><b>at our San Antonio office 2-3 days a week </b><b>for a 12 week time period.</b>In a typical day, you will:·       Work on entry-level journal entries and reconciliations.·       Compile and analyze data in order to prepare supporting schedules.·       Assist with SOX controls.·       Work with team members and business partners on day to day operations.<h3>Required Qualifications</h3><ul><ul><li>Classification: Senior or Graduate student pursuing a degree in Accounting.</li><li>Basic knowledge of accounting principles and business processes.</li><li>Good time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills.</li><li>Works well in a team environment.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.</li><li>Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.</li><li>Availability to work up to 25 hours a week and up to 30 hours during the summer on Monday through Friday during regular business hours (Between 8am CDT and 6pm CDT) at our San Antonio office 2-3 days a week for a 12 week time period.</li></ul></ul><h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3><ul><ul><li>Experience with concepts of audit, accounting, and financial reporting.</li></ul></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><ul><li>Position targeted towards college students in their senior year pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting or master's students pursuing a master's degree in accounting.</li></ul></ul>#LI-AW2<b>About Rackspace Technology</b>We are the multicloud solutions experts. General Ledger Intern (San Antonio, TX)

<b>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:  </b>Assist the international tax department in the preparation of federal tax returns, assist with the preparation of quarterly tax provisions, assist with Transfer Pricing compliance, support team in setting up new foreign subsidiaries, support team on special projects, maintain company tax records and files, and perform research related to tax filings, tax planning and other claims.<b>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: </b>Basic knowledge of accounting and tax areas of a business. Skilled in math and financial spreadsheet application. Good time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills.<b>JOB COMPLEXITY:</b> Assists with the preparation of U.S. federal and international transactional tax returns. Prepares and updates statistical and financial reports, both on a regular and a specially assigned basis. Maintains company tax records and files. Performs tax research as needed. <b>SUPERVISION:</b> Operates under close supervision, with careful review of completed assignments.<b>EXPERIENCE:  </b>Junior or senior student pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in accounting, tax or finance. Experience with tax compliance and tax research tools is preferred.  Additional qualifications include a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
