The team bring creative solutions to our client’s most critical risk challenges and transformational projects at a time of unprecedented focus on the risk agenda in the financial services industry in New Zealand and globally. FRM provides the following specialist advice:o  Internal audit assessments of Treasury functions and activities.o  Treasury re-organisation and re-structuring (including process redesign).o  Regulatory compliance assessments for market risk and liquidity risk in accordance with RBNZ Banking standardso  Advise on management of market and liquidity risk o  Treasury best practice reviews.o  Risk identification - foreign exchange rates, interest rates and commodity prices.o  Financial instrument valuations.o  Policy design and implementation including controls, transaction processing, measurement and reporting.o  Assessments of the impact of emerging issues on borrowing, investment or hedging activities.o  Assessment and implementation of IAS 39, IFRS 7 and practical advice on financial instrument accounting issues in general.o  Support through KPMG audit teams in performing treasury related audits.

The opportunity:

    • Due to significant demand for our services, we're looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Financial Risk Management team
    • If you are recently qualified with an Audit/Assurance background, this is an exciting opportunity to get your foot in the 'consulting' door and challenge yourself!
    • You will be involved in a wide variety of Treasury, market risk, liquidity risk engagements across the financial services sector and large corporates. This could include advise to clients on end-to-end process reviews/design, risk measurement and management, regulatory compliance etc.

Day to day you will:

    • Work on multiple engagements and support engagement managers to help clients improve their treasury management practices and regulatory compliance. 
    • Develop strong relationships with clients in financial services and corporates where your voice will be heard through direct contact with management, executives and Board members.
    • Apply an awareness and understanding of the general business and economic environments in undertaking engagements.
    • Produce clear and well-presented information/reports.

What you'll bring to our team:

    • Relevant tertiary degree with 3+ years of experience in Audit or Risk within a professional services firm, financial services organisation or a large corporate.
    • CPA/CA qualification.
    • CFA/FRM qualification would be advantageous (also those who are pursuing these qualifications).
    • Financial services experience and an understanding of financial risk and financial products.
    • Ability to provide insights and recommendations in a succinct and professional manner that our clients understand.
    • A strong attention to detail, numerical aptitude and the ability to see issues from a wider perspective.
    • A high level of self-motivation, energy and drive.
    • Collaborative and inclusive with an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Ideally some experience of presenting to senior people and proving an opinion, contributing to a written report or verbally in a forum.
