The Junior Security Consultant will support the VerSprite SecOps team and initiatives related to cloud security assessments and cloud audits. Their focus will be on utilizing control guidance defined by CSA 3.1, CIS benchmarks, Microsoft and Amazon, as well as performing automated checks with a combination of VerSprite developed, CSP provided, and Opensource tooling​. The Junior Security Consultant will occasionally collaborate with customer technical staff and will support other VerSprite practice areas as required, when addressing customer technical needs.  

 To be successful this individual is a self-starter with good technical skills in cloud and security posture assessments. The Junior Security Consultant also must thrive in a demanding and highly flexible environment against both short and long-term deliverables.  

Junior Security Cloud Consultant Skills & Experience Requirements: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - provident English 
  • Proven ability to identify and communicate project issues and risks 
  • Able to work in a multi-project and agile environment 
  • Drive successful delivery and implementation of key enterprise initiatives  
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge independently, requesting assistance as needed 
  • Good time management and organizational skills 
  • Detail oriented in approach to tasks and deliverables 
  • Contributes to team members and/or team success 
  • Passionate about IT projects and learning new technologies 
  • Experience with running and adjusting automated tools in cloud environments  
  • Intermediate working knowledge of networking, storage, virtual computing, identity and access management 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating System 
  • Experience with Git, JIRA, Confluence 

Strongly preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering 
  • 1 year plus experience working with one or more cloud service providers: 
  • Amazon Web Services 
  • Microsoft Azure 
  • Google Cloud Platform 
  • Basic skills in scripting languages i.e., Python, Bash, PowerShell 
  • Additional desired skills: 
  • Hands on experience with DevOps best practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, automated deployment, and design 
  • Practical experience with CI tools such as Jenkins, Team City, Circle CI or similar. 
  • Certifications are beneficial e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP etc.
