Engineering Manager (TV Platform)

Do you want to have an impact where the majority of DAZN viewers are?Your role will be to manage a team of engineers responsible for building our existing DAZN TV "multi-target" application. This team and application have been fundamental to the success and growth of the DAZN TV platform and continues to be a key part in the DAZN development story as it has the majority of viewership across DAZN platforms.The TV platform is in a transitional phase as some target teams become more autonomous and take ownership of their own stacks. The role will require the management of both the ongoing requirements as well as assisting other teams with their migration strategies.The role has excellent prospects for growth as you will become knowledgeable in all areas of the application ecosystem, and there is opportunity to make an impact in both product delivery and technical strategy. Your teamYour 6 direct reports comprise some of the most established talent in the DAZN development ecosystem. This high-functioning team are very welcoming and very capable.You will be supported by a leadership team comprised of other engineering managers, principal engineers, and TPM’s who work as a team to ensure everything is running as smoothly as it can. This role is based in Katowice. We support a hybrid working model, due to the nature of TV application development you will be asked to be onsite when required.

As our new Engineering Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Lead a team working with a diverse range of TV platforms
• Coordinate with various technical stakeholders that span across the systems breadth and depth
• Optimise the development process and delivery to achieve the best outcome for the business
• Support and grow your teams’ skills beyond their current remit
• Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to support modern software development practices and advance a great engineering culture
• Contribute to the technical strategy in this area and collaborate with key stakeholders to influence the product outcome.

You’ll be set up for success if you have:

• A Technical background with hands-on experience as a software engineer
• Experience working with a UI software development team (ideally JavaScript based)
• The ability to work autonomously or collaboratively (as needs require) in a larger program of work.
• Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders and clarifying technical requirements
• Experience working with a complex software system                                                                       

Even better if you have:

• Experience or exposure to software development for resource-constrained environments (Smart TV’s, STB’s, automotive, POS, kiosks etc)
• Exposure to software releases involving app stores or certification processes
• Knowledge and experience with the Android platform
