Engineering Manager (TestOps)

Come stand in our TV Lab: a room with more automated TV devices than you can think of and consider managing the team that makes it all possible.Your role will be to manage a team of engineers responsible for building out our device automation lab solution in Katowice. This is provided as a service to other teams at DAZN to assist them in validating their TV applications during development and release. As such, you will be exposed to many varied stakeholders and play a key part in the application development lifecycle at DAZN.There are plenty of opportunities to make a big impact at one of our cornerstone technology teams and help us nurture and grow the function to match DAZN’s ambitions for scale.  Your teamThe TestOps team is an established team of nine engineers, from a variety of different backgrounds and skills. They have taken their project from a proof of concept to the backbone of test automation at DAZN, and this comes with the typical challenges of rapid scale and ensuring things are production ready.You will be supported by a leadership team comprised of other engineering managers, principal engineers, and technical program managers who work as a team to ensure everything is running as smoothly as it can. This role is based in the Katowice office, due to the hands-on nature of working in automation labs, you will be required to be on-site ca. three days a week to support your team. 

As our new Engineering Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Build and grow your team to own and support their services in production
• Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to support modern software development practices and advance a great engineering culture
• Balance priorities and demands with pragmatic approaches
• Contribute to the technical strategy in this area and collaborate with key stakeholders to influence the product outcome.
• Inspire your team to create a best-in-class TV device automation solution
• Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement

You’ll be set up for success if you have:

• A technical background with hands-on experience as a software engineer
• Experience working with a full-stack or back-end only software development team
• Demonstrable experience of growing and motivating both high and low performing team members
• Experience working towards detailed product requirements and technical strategy aligned with business aims and objectives
• Experience working within Agile methodologies
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Polish

Even better if you have:

• Worked in a test automation, or application validation context
• Experience or exposure to A/V hardware and networking
