You won’t regret it.The Chief Information Security (IS) Officer is responsible for enhancing and maintaining the vision, strategy and programs required to ensure information assets are appropriately protected. The CISO is responsible for assessing cyber risk to the organization, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation in cybersecurity protection.   As a member of the executive team this critical position will have oversight for all security layers, implementation, and strategies organizational wide to make Marco as secure as possible, maintaining Marco’s best-in-class security infrastructure.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible to maintain a current understanding of the IT threat landscape for the industry along with the trending threat landscape.  Able to interpret potential threats into action to protect internal systems integrity. 
    • Assess risk to the organizations through process evaluation, procedure review, and policy adherence.
    • Ensure compliance with the changing laws and applicable regulations.
    • Collaborate with departments throughout the company to ensure that information security requirements are integrated into business processes and systems development lifecycles.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to our information systems, applications, and data. Implement appropriate controls to mitigate them.
    • Consult with Internal Systems to test and review disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
    • Translate knowledge of laws and applicable regulations to identify risks and actionable plans to protect the business.
    • Schedule periodic security and compliance audits with our Security Committee selected partners.
    • Review and present to the security committee on a monthly cadence:
    • a. Assessed risks / audit report findingsb. Incident response plansc. Policy and control suggested modifications for compliance and risk mitigation.
    • Conduct and review investigations, in the event of an incident, with relevant functional group leaders, including impact analysis and recommendations for avoiding similar vulnerabilities, and present the findings to the Security Committee.
    • Ensure that cyber policies and procedures are communicated to all personnel and periodically assess groups for compliance.
    • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including vendors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
    • Establish and maintain a security awareness training program for employees, contractors, and partners to ensure that they understand their roles and responsibilities in protecting our information assets & those of our clients.
    • Conduct Executive team briefing on risks, assessments, compliance, or other related topics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related major and four years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced Computer Science or related degree preferred.
    • Prior experience as CISO preferred.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of information technology systems and infrastructure.
    • Excellent communication skills in working with and relating to people at all levels of an organization.
    • Function as a good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor.
    • Excellent negotiation skills.
    • Act as a strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement and strong operational focus.
    • Well organized and self-directed while being a team player.
    • Highly decisive possessing a “big picture” perspective.
    • Work with integrity and ethically and uphold organizational values.
    • Valid Driver’s License, proof of personal insurance and an acceptable driving record.
