Project Manager (Data Services)

PROJECT MANAGER OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for managing the Professional Services (PS) projects for Data Services practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, particularly within the realm of data projects including deploying Data warehouse and Data Lakes on public cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP), and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams. As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing detailed tasks, monitoring RAG (Red, Amber, Green) status for scope, schedule, budget, and risks/issues, and implementing detailed tracking mechanisms using agile methodologies. Key Responsibilities:·       Lead and manage PS engagements for Data Services practice from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with client objectives and expectations.·       Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.·       Utilize agile methodologies to implement detailed task tracking, manage priorities, and adapt to changing project requirements.·       Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, developers, and stakeholders, to drive project execution and deliverables.·       Monitor and report RAG status for scope, schedule, budget, and risks/issues, providing timely updates to stakeholders and senior management.·       Proactively identify project risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, and escalate as necessary to ensure timely resolution.·       Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the project team.·       Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries and updates.·       Conduct regular project reviews and retrospectives to assess performance, identify lessons learned, and drive process improvements.·       Mentor and coach junior project management staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and capabilities. Qualifications:·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; PMP certification preferred.·       Proven experience managing complex data projects within a Professional Services or consulting environment.·       Strong understanding of agile methodologies, with hands-on experience using agile project management tools and techniques.·       Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.·       Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.·       Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.·       Experience with data management, analytics, and business intelligence technologies is highly desirable.·       Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data-related tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau) is a plus.·       Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and with high quality. About Rackspace TechnologyWe are the multicloud solutions experts.
