What You'll Do

  • Provide subject matter expertise focusing on improving our clients’ cyber security posture, working to test and develop defensive technologies, people and processes in an organization
  • Lead and manage long term penetration testing, Red and Purple Team engagements for our customers
  • Provide hands-on, application, network, and red team penetration testing engagement expertise
  • Conduct assessments on a wide variety of technologies and implementations utilizing both automated tools and manual techniques
  • Develop standards, tools, and methodologies to enhance testing processes
  • Lead engagements to simulate sophisticated cyberattacks to identify vulnerabilities
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences
  • Assist in the scoping of prospective engagements, leading engagements from initial stages through implementation and remediation
  • Mentor and develop less experienced staff
  • Contribute to Coalfire Threat and Vulnerability Management overall success by managing your team to meet various business objectives and metrics

What You'll Bring

  • 1-2 years’ experience running security assessments
  • Ability to lead penetration testing project / team independently for the full project lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of security principles, policies, and industry best practices
  • Strong working knowledge of at least two programming or scripting languages
  • An aptitude for technical writing, including assessment reports, presentations, and operating procedures
  • Experience managing relevant tools and tool suites (i.e. vulnerability management toolsets).
  • Ability to think critically, creatively, and problem solve to drive results. 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects and/or activities to completion.
  • Understanding of the essential business practices of a professional consulting organization
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Bonus Points

  • Demonstrated experience in a software development and/or computer operations management role
  • Demonstrated experience with Advanced Persistent Threats tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • An advanced degree in an IT-related field
  • Familiarity with the MITRE Attack Framework, Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual (OSSTMM), Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications
  • Knowledge of applied cryptographic protocols
  • CREST Certifications a plus
  • OSCP/E, GWAPT, GPEN, or GXPN certification(s)

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role is $94,000 to $163,000 based on national salary averages. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certifications and other factors. You may also be eligible to participate in annual incentive, commission, and/or recognition programs.
