Senior Advisor – Cyber Security

Our specialist team offer a broad range of services to support our clients by helping manage and respond to constantly evolving cyber threats:— Strategy and governance: cyber maturity assessments, third party risk services, Virtual CISO on Demand, compliance assessments (e.g. PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2), security strategy development, security framework development, privacy assessments, security metrics and reporting.— Transformation: security program delivery, security architecture design and review, identity and access management, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), security operations services.— Cyber defence: penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, pre/post implementation controls reviews, cloud security services, disaster recovery and business continuity, insider threat services, security analytics, IoT security services.— Cyber response: threat hunting, cyber response maturity assessments, incident response, threat intelligence.

The opportunity:

    • Our award-winning KPMG Cyber team has an opportunity for someone who is relatively new to their cyber security career to join us as a Senior Advisor in Wellington.
    • You’ll work with other extraordinary people who bring together a unique combination of technical expertise and business expertise to help clients manage the evolving cyber security threat landscape.
    • No two projects are the same. You will work with a wide range of clients to help them understand and address the variety of cyber security risks and challenges they face.

Day to day you will:

    • Work as part of the KPMG Cyber team and wider Digital practice to deliver cyber security advisory and assurance engagements across a broad range of subject matters.
    • Help clients implement a variety of improvements to manage their cyber security risks.
    • Participate in the learning programmes we offer to continue to grow your cyber security knowledge and skills, along with your broader consulting knowledge. 
    • Contribute to the development of new products and services to meet market needs.

What you'll bring to our team:

    • One to three years cyber security consulting experience.
    • Exposure to security in the New Zealand public sector.
    • Strong interpersonal skills that will enable you to successfully engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, with an ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • A curious mind and an appetite to improve your knowledge and skills.
    • Driven and enthusiastic with a 'can-do' attitude and a strong sense of ownership to get the job done in a practical and pragmatic fashion.
