Junior Security Operations Engineer

You want to protect our most valuable assets from both opportunists and nation states. You're used to working in the intersection of technology, people and processes, and are careful about whether the steps you’re taking minimize risk. You’ll work with our ops, infra, research and eng teams to enable our core work while maintaining a strong security culture. You are a security generalist; someone who can identify weaknesses and propose practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own identity and access management
• Perform core staff access processes
• Work with other teams to understand workflows and recommend improvements
• Coordinate access reviews and other access hygiene protocols
• Design, discover, document and run other basic security processes
• Champion security processes internally, identifying processes not being followed or potential friction points
• Configure integrations and security settings on authentication systems, including proactive identification of improvements
• Support the implementation of security tools and infrastructure
• Think about how and where we might be vulnerable to attack
• Identify, assess and communicate security risks
• Discuss security culture with staff

Strong candidates may also

• Work with ops team to ensure physical security of our office
• Have experience in cloud environments
• Have experience in vulnerability assessment
• Translate security controls from ‘best practice’ to Anthropic’s risk context and objectives

Candidates need not have

• 100% of the skills needed to perform the job
• Experience in SOC2 and other named compliance certifications
• Formal certifications or education credentials
• Machine learning experience or knowledge
