Frontend Engineer (Remote Europe)

You should understand the value of empathizing with our users, identifying their needs, and translating them into solutions. While technical skills are essential, this combination of user empathy, strategic insight, and collaborative spirit defines the product mindset we're looking for. Together with your squad and in the team, you'll support the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Jira Product Discovery product. You will report to the Engineering Manager.We ask hard questions and challenge each other to improve our work constantly. We are driven but team-oriented. We know the importance of validating our assumptions about users and implementing several types of testing to prove assumptions right or wrong. Our bottom line is improving our user's experience - no matter what.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

• Understanding of fast development cycles and close collaboration with the Product Managers and Designers
• Experience in evaluating trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, and customer value
• Experience in contributing to the codebase in ReactJS, TypeScript, or a basic experience in vanilla JS
• An attitude of taking ownership of the software you write all the way to production
• Experience with modern web architectures, distributed systems, and test automation

What you'll do

• Code, lots of it to make our services scale so that we can achieve our team goals
• Feel and show accountability for high-quality documentation and code reviews
• Guard security, as it is an essential concern in all design and architecture discussions
• Create an environment where failure is viewed as an opportunity

Your background

• 3+ years of experience building distributed large-scale stateless services in a business-driven landscape
• 3+ years of experience building large-scale performing SPA web applications, ReactJS, and TypeScript
• Enjoyment sharing knowledge with teammates and working collaboratively when you need help
• Previously worked across multiple codebases when delivering features
• 3+ years of experience working in a new product or startup environment
• Practical knowledge of different approaches to Agile software development
• Taking care of the E2E software development lifecycle: you build it, you run it
