Cyber Education Specialist I On-site, Bangalore

The Cybersecurity Education team is uniquely positioned to develop empowering cybersecurity solutions for the end users working for Optiv client organizations. As a member of the Cybersecurity Education team, the Specialist must be proficient in the skills required for their role and should be actively working toward proficiency in the next tier of skills.In addition to demonstrating the skills below, the Specialist will regularly conduct quality checks, troubleshoot course and platform issues, research for content development, monitor the portal for client service requests, and collaborate with other team members.Prior experience in security awareness or knowledge of application security and cybersecurity best practices is preferred but not necessary. Experience in these fields can be used to substitute Level 2 or Level 3 skills depending on the level of expertise.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Instructional Design L2 – Ability to design eLearning content utilizing real-world scenarios and/or simulations. Ability to effectively design content on technical topics with the assistance of Optiv SMEs. Ability to design meaningful just-in-time training content for failed phishing simulations.
  • Translation Projects – Ability to understand the constraints of developing eLearning and simulated phishing content for a global audience and walking through the appropriate steps to submit content for translation, integrate the translated content, and perform quality checks on the final translated products.
  • Client Engagement Ownership – This skill includes owning the engagement kick-off, onboarding the client, providing on-going support of the engagement, and serving as the client’s point of contact for service delivery support. If client engagement includes managed services or custom development, be able to deliver these services to the client as outlined in the service description and/or contract. Work with the client’s customer success manager and account team as necessary.
  • Training & Phishing Program Consulting – Be able to evaluate a client’s business objectives, historical data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and details relevant to the client’s industry, size, employee population, etc. From that evaluation, formulate suggestions for program elements, timing, and approaches. Consulting is often collaborative with the client and may require coaching if the client is unaware of best practices and/or trends.
  • Graphic Design & Development L2 – Ability to manipulate the images and vectors in Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator to align with the needs of content developers. Ability to effectively format visuals and text in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and the simulated phishing platform to communicate ideas and content.
  • eLearning Development L2 – Ability to design functioning, visually engaging, and interactive eLearning courses from a storyboard that include content pages, interactions, and assessments. These courses often do not follow linear navigation. This rapid prototyping should be completed at an hourly development rate of 184:1. Proficiency in Articulate Storyline required. Additionally, ability to develop training pages on the phishing platform required.

What we’re looking for

  • 3-4+ years’ experience in education/training-related role or 1 years’ experience and degree/certification in related field
  • Experience working in a collaborative and inclusive team environment
  • Experience in customer service-related role, help desk experience preferred
  • Preferred experience in consulting 
  • Strong written communication skills, technical writing experience required
  • Ability to independently own projects, manage associated timelines, work with subject matter experts, and produce high quality deliverables
  • Strong attention to detail and an inquisitive nature
  • Proficiency in basic graphic design skills
  • Proficiency in eLearning instructional design skills, including storyboarding and script development
  • Learning Management System (LMS) administrator experience
  • Proficiency in Articulate 360 Rise (Development rate of 80:1)
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook
