We seek a highly motivated and committed professional to help drive our crisis and security consulting practice in the Andean Region. You will form part of an expert team delivering innovative solutions that enable our clients to effectively manage risk in complex environments. Typical solutions include security strategy and structure, physical security, crisis management and business continuity.

Working in the crisis and security consulting practice, the consultant will perform a fee-earning role in which they will be expected to develop and deliver new business opportunities as well as deliver against existing projects and initiatives.

Responsabilities:

Work with other team members and departments to deliver value-adding risk management consultancy, consistent with industry best practices and drawing on personal experience. The consultant will:
  • Consult with a diverse portfolio of clients to identify, assess and mitigate security risk
  • Train and exercise client personnel in security awareness, security risk management, incident response and crisis management
  • Develop business through client meetings, inter-departmental collaboration, proposal writing and client relationship management
  • Manage projects from inception to delivery with attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Manage security contractors and project resources
  • Administer business and financial tools and processes to ensure effective management of consulting engagements and time management
  • Actively participate in Control Risks and industry initiatives to continuously improve individual and team capability to service our clients

Requirements

Knowledge and experienceEssential

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in security, risk management or related fields
  • Excellent client relationship skills with a track record of delivering success in a high-performing business or consulting environment
  • Credible experience in security risk management with the knowledge and confidence to present to and conduct training for senior stakeholders
  • An enthusiastic and innovative approach to work, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and work as part of a high-performing team as well as independently
  • Significant knowledge of and experience in Colombia and the Andean Region
  • A proven ability to operate effectively in high risk and high stress environments
  • Preferred
  • Experience delivering security consulting engagements
  • Experience in crisis management and business continuity
  • Knowledge of best-practice risk management methodology
Qualifications and skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time and on short notice
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken)
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communications skills
  • A high level of integrity, sound judgement and discretion
  • The ability to multi-task, time-manage and balance competing requirements
  • Creative and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to listen, learn, develop new skills and innovate
  • A large degree of flexibility regarding work schedule and peaks in work intensity
  • An excellent team member with a collaborative approach
