Business Development Representative (Data Protection & Cyber-Security)

Trilateral Research has a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Representative, who has familiarity with information security and data protection compliance, to join our Data Protection and Cyber-Risk team.

Your role will be to assist in developing the business by contacting and developing relationships with potential and current customers in the UK, Ireland and beyond, including some account management responsibilities for key stakeholders.

Our Data Protection and Cyber-risk Service provides compliance support services to public and private sector organisations, in the UK, Ireland and internationally. We work with well-known private companies and public institutions, providing protections and services in the areas of healthcare, education, finance, public services and humanitarian aid.

What you will deliver

  • Build and maintain a substantial sales pipeline, managing leads as they are generated
  • Proactively locate, develop and generate sales opportunities in our target sectors, including upselling to current clients and generating repeat business
  • Interact with clients and maintain good relationships
  • Identify client needs and assist in creating product / service packages to suit those needs
  • Contact potential clients through appropriate direct and indirect channels
  • Develop and update a strategy for business development in partnership with Service Management team members
  • Support the development of statements of work or proposals in partnership with team members
  • Develop substantial knowledge of our products and services, maintaining an in-depth knowledge of our competitive positioning vis-à-vis industry trends
  • Support the development of marketing materials in partnership with the marketing team
  • Present our company and services to potential clients
  • Build visibility for the company in appropriate forums, networks and events
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market

Requirements

What skills and experience you will bring to the role

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads and transitioning them into sales, particularly in the public sector or healthcare. In addition, the following specific skills and expertise is required:

  • Proven experience successfully meeting sales targets and driving growth for a particular, relevant product or service
  • Proven experience interacting with clients and developing relevant market insights
  • Experience with multi-channel lead development and sales techniques
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Experience maintaining sales pipelines and associated documentation
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Management or relevant field
  • An existing network of contacts in the public sector or healthcare would be desirable
