The opportunity:

    • This Associate Director role will see you identifying and managing the risks of our Christchurch Consulting clients by providing advice on the implementation of controls and identifying potential areas of risk, as well as contributing to the growth of the practice.

Day to day you will:

    • Work closely with the local leadership team to deliver on the strategy and plans.
    • You will provide critical, independent, clear and practical advice to determine the right processes and internal controls in order to improve and optimise our client’s business processes.
    • Use data to analyse trends, patterns and identify risks in processes.
    • Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to successfully engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and an ability to bring people together, develop meaningful relationships, integrate services and work collaboratively with a team of experts across the wider consulting teams.
    • Your excellent client service mind-set, business development skills will allow you to add value and build long term relationships with clients, identifying opportunities and pursuing them, developing thought leadership, leading client proposals and developing team capabilities.
    • You demonstrate commercial awareness and the ability to identify and seize opportunities to enhance revenue.
    • You will build the reputation of KPMG through the quality of your work, expertise and judgement as well as innovative approaches.

What you’ll bring to our team:

    • 9+ years of relevant practical Internal Audit/Advisory experience (preferably including ‘Big 4’ experience).
    • Relevant tertiary qualification and have completed CIA, CPA, CA, CISA (or equivalent) qualification.
    • Excellent leadership skills and strategic thinking/vision.
    • Experience managing a broad range of people (at different levels), from across service lines both inside and outside of your area of technical expertise.
    • An ability to stand back and take a holistic view of an issue and articulate a future vision and the skills needed to execute it.
    • Oral and written communication is a key strength along with planning, project management, relationship building, networking and influencing skills.
    • Positive and flexible attitude and an enthusiasm to embrace growth opportunities to gain experience.
    • A proven business development capability and, preferably, good knowledge of the local market.
