The Data Center Operations Technician owns the responsibility of all IT Infrastructure, including customer configurations, within the data center environment ensuring all customer server environments are secure, operational and maintain 99.999% uptime.*Please note that for this role you will need fluent English and Cantonese (written and spoken) ** Note that this role will be the second shift, which is Monday - Friday 15:00-23:30 HKT *   <h3>Key Accountabilities</h3><ul><ul><li>IT cabling patching and patch management</li><li>Access control and security management</li><li>Rack allocation and DC space management</li><li>Hardware installation &amp; decommission of Server/Network/BMS/cables</li><li>Troubleshooting DC Network/Server/BMS Hardware</li><li>Monitoring of DC environment BMS, Serves, Network using monitoring tools</li><li>Report creation as per the requirement DC operations team</li><li>Documentation of activities and create/modify SOPs</li><li>Decommission life cycle of DC hardware</li><li>Inventory process, order replacement parts and return failed parts as required.</li><li>Structured cabling, labelling and troubleshooting of fiber/copper/telecom cables.</li><li>Rack power and rack power distribution unit installation and troubleshooting</li><li>System power supplies and cabling</li></ul></ul><h3>Key Requirements</h3><ul><ul><li>Diploma holder or above in Information Technology or related disciplines</li><li>Minimum 2 years working experience in sizeable Data Centre operations</li><li>Experience with Dell PowerEdge, HP ProLiant rack server &amp; Cisco network hardware preferred</li><li>Must be able to work a flexible schedule, 24x7x365 coverage, including holidays and weekends</li><li>Must possess strong written and verbal skills, type with proficiency and exhibit professional phone etiquette</li></ul></ul><h3>Success in the role requires the following personal qualities:</h3><ul><ul><li>Effective Communicator</li><li>Self Starter</li><li>Team Player</li><li>Open (Accepting) of Feedback</li><li>Ability to Identify Problems</li><li>Solicits input from others when making decisions</li></ul></ul>#LI-SM6<b>About Rackspace Technology</b>We are the multicloud solutions experts. <b>Inventory Control Specialist – Data Center Operations - HK</b><b>Location:  Rackspace Data Center Tseung Kwan O Hong Kong</b> Rackspace is seeking an <b>Inventory Control Specialist </b>that has a passion for technology and is ready to join our<b> Data Center Operations Center </b>in Tseung Kwan O Hong Kong. <b>Position Summary</b>At Rackspace, an <b>Inventory Control Specialist</b> ensures accountability and security of data center inventory. Key element of this role is to understand and adhere to company safety policies and procedures as well as documented inventory controls and practices. As part of our FANATICAL support, you will provide service in alignment with Rackspace Core Values on a daily basis. <b>This role requires physical work:</b>·         shipping &amp; receiving of customer gear·         inventory management·         cycle counts·         returning decommissioned gear to inventory·         RMAs·         drive wiping·         selling excess inventory<h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><ul><li>Manage and process internal tickets (with limited supervision). </li><li>Process equipment returning to secured inventory stockroom. </li><li>Execute physical movements of inventory. </li><li>Maintain meticulous 5S and housekeeping practices. </li><li>Participate in the root cause analysis method to investigate any customer[1]impacting events.</li><li>Participate in regularly schedule inventory-related meetings. </li><li>Assist in training of new and existing controllers. </li><li>Learn and demonstrate understanding of all safety policies, procedures and requirements, including acquisition of any required certifications. </li><li>Address inquiries from other internal/external departments. </li><li>Stock materials following industry handling standards. </li><li>Process hard drives containing data through the drive wiping and destruction processes. </li><li>Process requisitions. </li><li>Participate in count and assist in reconciliation for the cycle counting process. </li><li>Process reinstatements. </li><li>Process all return materials, including sub-assembly build. </li><li>Pull and assign items to fulfill customer contracts and upgrades. </li><li>Replenish inventory using kanban and min/max methodology. </li><li>Process materials for disposals. </li><li>Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and properly communicate with freight companies. </li><li>Process international shipments adhering to industry standards. </li><li>Process inbound receipts required for custom products. </li><li>Package all shipments in alignment with documented company standards. </li><li>Complete all shipping and receiving documentation. </li><li>Process inter-organization transfers. </li><li>Demonstrate no less than full performance in a continuous, consistent, measurable manner.</li><li>Demonstrate high levels of passion and enthusiasm when providing Fanatical Support to all customers and coworkers. </li><li>Communicate in an honest, transparent manner focused on building trust amongst customers and coworkers.</li></ul></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><ul><li>Must have basic knowledge of integrated inventory control system. </li><li>Must have basic knowledge of the cycle counting process. </li><li>Must have basic shipping and receiving experience.</li><li>Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. </li><li>Must have basic oral and written communication skills, as well as professional phone etiquette.</li><li>Familiarity with electronic and computer components.</li><li>Must be able to lift 60 lbs. overhead. </li><li>Familiarity with productivity software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office and email client software, including the creation of rules and folder organization.</li><li>Must be able to type with proficiency and accuracy. </li><li>Must be able to work a flexible schedule. </li><li>Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel occasionally as needed.</li></ul></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.
