Workplace Violence Threat Manager

Control Risks is hiring a Workplace Violence Threat Manager to support the Workplace Violence Program (WVP) for a global technology client. This person will be directly embedded within the client’s program to help develop the program, as well as own a caseload of workplace violence concerns. 

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of California SB 553 as the company ensures compliance with new requirements.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and manage a global workplace violence program (WVP) within the scope of prevention, response, and recovery efforts, including with respect to compliance with California SB 553. 
  • Create and maintain consistent WVP prevention awareness, education, streamlined intake, reporting, and resource management. Create or improve upon data collection and reporting of key internal metrics for prevention, response, and recovery. 
  • Conduct internal workplace investigations in accordance with applicable employment laws. 
  • Knowledge and ability to understand workplace violence guidelines, and law in order to meet compliance standards. 
  • Collaborate and improve investigative processes and program components of the larger cross functional response team of legal, HR, benefits, and others. 
  • Develop and maintain operational response resources within applicable regions, to include but not limited to psychological consulting, security services, and investigative resources. 
  • Interview and complete the documentation process of complainants, witnesses, respondents, and other related individuals. 
  • Manage and coordinate live response matters with external parties including but not limited to external counsel, law enforcement, company service providers, and third-party psychological services. 
  • Perform behavioral based threat assessments in both direct and indirect settings. 
  • Perform after-action reviews and manage the reporting of corrective action efforts. 
  • Providing outcome summaries and investigation reports to Stakeholders. 
  • Implement a program improvement cycle of plan, equip, train/exercise, and remediate. 
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner. 

Requirements

Skills, knowledge and abilities 

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.  
  • Experience in Incident Management, Threat Management, Violence Prevention, Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, Crisis Management or related field 
  • Experience in conducting investigative work such as: investigative interviews, non-confrontational interviews, end-to-end personnel investigations, forensically based interviews, audits, data analysis, and intelligence gathering. 
  • Working knowledge of California SB 553 and ability to understand how it relates to the client’s needs. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to draft and deliver high visibility reports, assessments, and presentations, often to senior leaders and partners. 
  • Ability to work in both independent and collaborative work environments.
  • Ability to apply leadership directives and intent to program development, planning, and implementation.
  • Skill in policy and workflow development.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to further program goals and enhance organizational response.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize evidence-based practices and clinical practice guidelines appropriately and ability to guide staff and partners in using these tools.
  • Ability to deal effectively with individuals or groups representing widely divergent backgrounds, interests, and points of view.
  • Knowledge of and ability to research and utilize evidence-based practices and clinical practice guidelines appropriately and ability to guide staff and partners in using these tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, specifically but not exclusively India friendly business hours, to support global investigations.

The base salary range for this position in California is $100,000-$110,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per California SB 1162.
