Job Overview
The Security Consulting Team Lead is charged with providing knowledge and best practices around application security and the use of Veracode's suite of industry-leading products. The Team Lead will manage a group of Associate Customer Success Engineers. The Associate Customer Success Engineering Team play a critical role in building and sustaining customer relationships while driving the adoption of Veracode solutions to help Veracode surpass our revenue goals. The Team Lead is a high impact, very visible role that works closely with the Veracode Customer Success team to build long-term business relationships with our customers and help maintain and grow our Veracode business.
The Team Lead has a mix of technical and business savvy bringing a consultative mindset and approach, an ability to work cross functionally, and strong presentation skills.
What you’ll be doing
- Hire, manage, and develop staff of consultants by providing direction, establishing clear and measurable objectives, managing performance, training, and coaching.
- Help identify and support the training and research requirements of individual team members.
- Determine and translate the department delivery strategy into actionable, and measurable results.
- Provide engagement oversight across geographic regions, ensuring delivery success and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of the best practices, which can be referenced by customers, prospects, and other external parties.
- Resolve complex problems that arise in everyday work and escalate more complex problems to leadership.
- Ensures weekly timesheet compliance for the team; leads knowledge sharing sessions (in team and cross-team); mentors other team members; leads by example.
- Maintains utilization target by delivering Security Consulting and assisting other team members with billable work. Non-billable work may consist of internal initiatives or other projects.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the department to meet specific goals and objectives of the function; modifies goals in response to functional changes.
- Lead and contribute to the development of tooling and automation to improve team and client productivity
- Act as an ambassador to other departments within Veracode, including Customer Success, Solutions Architecture, and Engineering and Product Management
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- 2-5 years’ experience leading a technical team of 2-7 direct reports that is geographically dispersed.
- Leadership and coaching skills and an effective manager of highly technical individuals
- Knowledge of software architecture and design, application security concepts and engineering processes.
- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies, tools, methodologies, information security principles and impact to the security consulting industry.
- Understanding and/or previous experience working with software development.
- Ability to demonstrate solid understanding of software security technology such as Veracode or similar software and services offerings in discussion with clients and prospects
- Experience creating standard practices, policies, and guidelines to help streamline operational functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to work under pressure to solve complex problems and strong attention to detail a must.
