Solutions Architect (AWS) - Discovery and Experience

It’s football night and millions of people are firing up our app in to see the big match. Have your systems notified everyone interested that the match is about to start? Is your personalised recommendation system picking out the best alternatives for those who don’t like football? Are your sports data systems ingesting match data for goals and penalties and synchronising this data with the video stream ready to serve in real time to those users who are a little late and need to catch up with the match? We are looking for battle hardened architects who’ve been around high traffic, low latency, feature rich systems, seen system failures and more importantly have experienced first-hand the S1 incidents and have learnt the tough lessons of how to keep complexity down and reliability up. We are a live and on demand sports streaming service with ambition to change the way people watch sports forever, by putting the consumer first, providing more sport when and where they want it for a single low monthly fee.  You'll play a lead role in the design and architecture of the systems enabling the expansion of DAZN into global markets; with a rich variety of partners and evolving the next phase of our application framework.  Your TeamYou will work with DAZN’s Discovery and Enrichment tribe on the most innovative product features that are all about helping our customers find content and enriching their viewing experience. We need someone who has experience in event driven architecture and is very comfortable talking the right language with a wide variety of stakeholders including product and business people, other architects, engineers and our platform team. As our new Solution Architect, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Establish both functional and non-functional requirements of stakeholders.
• Design architectures using industry standard methodologies, ensuring that the result is reliable, scalable, performant and secure.
• Collaborate with and support distributed teams of software developers.
• Take both leading and hands-on roles in the implementation of the solution.
• Investigate issues and identify and initiate quality improvement measures.
• Play an active role in the architecture guild presenting your designs and helping review other architectural designs as they are rolled out in the company.

You’ll be set up for success if you have:

• Demonstrable experience of leading and delivering successful large scale, high availability, high quality, high performance architectures involving a wide variety of systems and technologies.
• Experience with designing systems that handle user data, including the associated regulations.
• Experience with Cloud based systems, in particular AWS, ECS, Serverless, DynamoDB, Kinesis, SNS, SQS and Microservices.
• Experience with developing consumer facing cross-platform web applications.
• Experience acting as both a team and technical lead on multiple projects.

Even better if you have:

• Experience with video streaming applications
• Experience with Agile frameworks (Kanban, Scrum…)
• Experience with developing in JavaScript, Node.JS or against SQL/NoSQL systems.
