Senior Security Consultant

Pentesec, part of the Charterhouse Group, is our multi-award-winning cyber security MSSP. Providing SOC services, cyber security consultancy and training to organisations of all sizes, they deliver a range of Managed Security Services including Managed Detection and Response, Managed Firewall, Managed Intrusion Prevention and more to our customers.

As a Senior Security Consultant, you will be an integral part of our esteemed team, spearheading the implementation and optimisation of Check Point solutions for our valued clients. Your expertise in Check Point technologies will be put to the test as you architect, configure, and troubleshoot cutting-edge security solutions, ensuring our clients are fully protected from ever-evolving cyber threats.

Our focus has always been on connection and collaboration, which is why we offer hybrid working with the choice to work in our Peterborough/London office. However, this role can also be performed as fully remote. Please note, this role will require occasional travel to client sites across the UK.

Requirements

  • Design and architect robust firewall solutions aligned with industry best practices, leveraging Check Point's suite of products and services.
  • Implement and configure Check Point firewalls and related security appliances, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to security policies.
  • Conduct thorough security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and potential improvements in clients' existing infrastructure.
  • Deliver top-tier training to our esteemed customers in our Check Point Advanced Training Center (ATC), ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of the solutions we deploy.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior consultants and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, security analysts, and project managers, to deliver integrated security solutions.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring timely and successful completion while exceeding client expectations.
  • Champion best practices, industry standards, and cybersecurity frameworks in all aspects of our consulting engagements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique security needs and offering strategic insights to enhance their security posture.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in firewall technologies, cybersecurity, and Managed Security Services to enhance your knowledge base continually.
  • Participate in the development of documentation, including design documents, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing materials.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Extensive experience in delivering Check Point solutions, with a deep understanding of the full product suite and its deployment methodologies. Check Point Maestro and VSX experience is highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience working in a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) environment is highly beneficial, showcasing your ability to handle multiple clients and diverse security challenges.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Security solutions, enabling you to address clients' cloud-specific security concerns confidently.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices related to firewalls and network security.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex security challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities to interact confidently with clients and deliver technical insights effectively.
  • Ability to mentor and support junior team members, contributing to their professional growth and development.
  • Bonus points for experience with any of the following additional products: Palo Alto, Netskope, Fortinet, Picus, Microsoft Security, and General Security and Compliance solutions.
  • A degree is not mandatory; we value hands-on experience and proven expertise in the cybersecurity domain.
  • Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills are crucial, ensuring that all engagements are well-documented, and knowledge is shared effectively.
