Senior Security Consultant, AWS Professional Services

At AWS, we’re hiring Security Consultants to help our customers and partners develop technical expertise and capacity, and to work with our partners on key customer engagements. Our security consultants will manage key customer relationships, deliver security advice and architecture guidance, lead proof-of-concept projects, and conduct customer workshops. AWS consultants will collaborate with customers to address security risk and compliance challenges, and implementing and migrating customer solutions and workloads onto AWS. AWS consultants will also have a drive to continue to learn and improve.This role will specialize in all aspects of information/cyber security management as well as business and regulatory compliance using cloud web services in large scale computing environments.Key job responsibilities

• Expertise - Collaborate with a broad range of AWS teams, including field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services (such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon DynamoDB/RDS databases, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security, Identity, & Compliance, etc).
• Solutions - Define and deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer security and compliance requirements, and proposing and delivering packaged offerings, and delivering custom solution engagements.
• Delivery - Engagements include short on-site projects proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services. Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services.
• Insights - Work with AWS engineering, support and business teams to convey partner and customer feedback as input to AWS technology roadmaps.

We are open to this role being based in any major city in Australia. As part of your role, you will need to travel to customers' site(s) and/or internal events when required.About the teamPublic Sector Professional ServicesAWS Professional Services lead Government, education, non-profits, and healthcare organizations; and their IT providers through their cloud adoption journey and help them achieve their desired business outcomes through AWS leadership and technical expertise. AWS Professional Services optimize the customers' model, reduce risk, and shorten customers' time to value via scientific breakthroughs, creating a broader reach to constituents, and producing productivity benefits, allowing for them to focus on their core missions.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in IT/cyber security, compliance and security risk management, including privacy, controls, etc.• Sound knowledge of cloud computing concepts, technologies and/or workload transition challenges• Notable consulting experience and collaboration skills• Experience advising customers on architectures meeting industry standards/frameworks, such as PSPF, ISM, ISO 27k, SOC, PCI-DSS, NIST CSF, etc.• Experience designing/implementing security controls in enterprise environments• Familiarity with availability concepts and archive, backup/recovery and business continuity processes• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• Implementation experience with enterprise security solutions such as identity management, federation systems, WAF, IPS, Anti-DDOS, and SIEM
• Hands-on technical expertise in security architecture, automation, integration, and deployment (DevOps)
• Highly technical and analytical, possessing IT implementation experience
• Experience building enterprise security strategy for cloud adoption or driving the program's evolution to meet new requirements
• Experience in the design and implementation of security controls
• Experience in programming/scripting: Java, ASP.Net, Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell scripting, etc
• Experience in technical audit activity to ensure compliance with security policies and other industry standards (e.g. NIST, ITSG-33, SOC1/SOC2)
