Senior Media Solutions/Projects Engineer

If you are keen to take the next step in your Broadcast career helping to support new technologies, working with unique and diverse platforms then this is the time to get involved with DAZN!  As a Senior Media Solutions/Projects Engineer will help design, implement and maintain our Post Production, Encoding & Broadcast infrastructure while playing a key role in our transition to global cloud systems. The department in which this role is located carries out design, build, support and maintenance of the live ingest, Editing, archive, encoding, file delivery and orchestration platforms which is operating in a 24/7 broadcast environment. Covering most audio/video related parts of the chain from signal acquisition, remote and local ingest to edit and on-demand delivery. You will communicate directly with DAZN production & operation teams as well as senior stakeholders to understand requirements and produce design solutions, quotations and proposals.  During the project phase, you must have the ability to work alongside project managers and act as technical lead, oversee contractors, carry out user acceptance testing, provide training and provide support documentation. When required the role will require hands on system installation, configuration and testing. Candidates should have a solid background in delivering broadcast related projects, post production systems design, virtualisation and support. Preferably across PAM/MAM platforms and collaborative post production workflows. Experience of live broadcast workflows will be beneficial.   A key part of this role will involve the transition from traditional on premise systems and workflows to cloud solutions. Existing knowledge and experience of AWS is a requirement.  Applicants must be flexible to travel overseas roughly twice a year and work evenings or weekends if required. The team meet up once a month currently in a hybrid working capacity. The role will require travel to our offices in the UK, London and Leeds and can be aligned to either our Hammersmith London office or Leeds office working from home. As our new Senior Media Solutions/Projects Engineer you'll have the opportunity to:

• Deliver technical solution design and proposals 
• Manage technical projects
• Manage project budgets and follow procurement processes 
• System/Solution and workflow design, build and test in virtual/cloud environments 
• Be responsible for the launch of new cloud workflows and platforms 
• Manage Installation and user acceptance testing 
• Create and update operational documentation & training resources 
• Be responsible for the launch of new cloud workflows and platforms 

You’ll be set up for success if you have:

• Experience of NLEs & PAM/MAM systems e.g. DALET, Avid Interplay, Adobe CC 
• Experience of Broadcast Production and playout workflows eg. Evertz, Dreamcatcher, EVS 
• Video encoding & File transcoding systems experience: AWS Elemental, Vantage, Amberfin 
• Experience of IP contribution Mpeg Transport Streams / RTP 
• Confidence with Linux operating system (CentOS, RedHat) 
• Knowledge and experience with AWS (or other cloud service providers)  
• Experiencing with Databases / database design (SQL or NoSQL) 
• Coding experience in any language (preferably Ruby & JavaScript)  
• Technical drawing and system specification 

Even better if you have:

• Knowledge of Windows Domain Security and Active Directory  
• Experience with MVC design patten to enable full stack development 
• Experience with Terraform  
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes , docker-compose) 
• Knowledge and experience with Git (branching strategies, repo management, Github Actions)
