Principal IAM Engineer | Remote, USA

The Principal Engineer works as a technical leader within the Cyber Operations Team. The primary focus for this role is to act as a Subject Matter Expert within IAM. Possessing deep technical and operational knowledge on multiple IAM technologies. The Principal Engineer should have extensive experience working with customers and product vendors, responsible for creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), implementation of processes, development/mentoring of staff, managing and maintaining IAM systems across internal and client environments. The Principal Engineer will work closely with Management, Senior Engineers, Client Success Managers, Senior Security Engineers, other Principal Security Engineers, and clients to complete high profile, critical services to existing and future Managed Security Service clients. Serve as a subject matter expert and technical lead for Managed Identity Security Services, staying in tune with all client configuration issues.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Assist engineering team by prioritizing clients work requests, onboarding projects and service tasks.
  • Work closely with Management, Client Success Managers and other Engineers in defining processes and procedures for client request and projects.
  • Guide the design, development, and review of complex IAM content.
  • Analyzes, identifies, and tactfully acts on areas of improvement with existing processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Assist in developing individual team strategies and responsibilities to be successful and grow.
  • Assist with development of internal training methods to support Managed IAM Services and their clients.
  • Act as the point of escalation for other Engineers (Associate Engineer, Security Engineer, & Senior Engineer) and provide guidance and mentoring.
  • Assist with client transition and onboarding as primary point of contact for Managed Security Service clients.
  • Documentation of Account Governance processes and responsibility for report generation and notification to senior leadership about potential client Service Level Agreement (SLA) issues.
  • Explain, guide and demonstrate how to use various Enterprise Security products to both technical and relatively non-technical personnel.
  • Provide remote consulting services via interactive client sessions to assist with implementation, break fix scenarios, upgrades, and general support of multiple IAM product vendors and technologies. (Ex. CyberArk, SailPoint, Ping, Okta etc.)
  • Support enterprise IAM software -based products in Commercial, Enterprise and Government environments.

What we're looking for:

  • Professional experience in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Engineering, or related field of study; or at least 6 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with managed Security Services or Information Security experience required, administration, configuration and management required,  Enterprise Security administration required.
  • Advanced information security knowledge in one or more areas to include: Privileged Access Management (PAM), Access Management and Identity and Access Management (IAM)  Enterprise products.
  • Example: CyberArk: Core PAS, CyberArk Privileged Cloud, CyberArk Endpoint Privileged Access Management, CyberArk Remote Access, CyberArk Conjur
  • SailPoint: Identity Now and IIQ Solutions
  • Okta: Workforce and Customer Identity
  • Understanding of IAM architecture, change processes and implementation is a must; ideal candidate will have worked with supporting or implementing such environments.
  • Excellent time management, reporting, and communication skills
  • Superior ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with Internal and client Ticketing and Knowledge Base Systems for Incident and Problem tracking as well as procedures. (i.e., ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).
  • General security knowledge (GIAC, CISSP, CCSE, CISA, HBSS, NSA, CEH, , Security +, or other security certifications).
  • Experience with various IAM security products such as: CyberArk, SailPoint IdentityNow, Okta, etc.
  • Vendor Required Certifications (Ex. CyberArk CDE, CyberArk CPC, SailPoint IdentityNow Engineer, Okta Certified Administrator, etc.)
  • In depth knowledge of Various Operating Systems (*NX, Windows, etc.)
  • An understanding of a wide array of server grade applications such as: DBMS, Exchange, DNS, SMTP, IIS, Apache, Active Directory, Identity Management, Patch Management, LDAP, SQL, and others.
  • Familiarity with DevOps processes and procedures
  • Ability to work nights or weekends as required
  • Prior consulting or support experience
