Manager, Security Engineering, Amazon Healthcare Security (HealthSec)

HealthSec is searching for a talented Security Engineering Manager to help us evolve the technology security and risk processes that power the core health business services and fulfillment engines. This position will be located in Seattle (WA) Area with relocation available.As a leader within our HealthSec team, you will be at the heart of the AHS's planning and operations. The very foundation of the AHS customer experience is trust. Assuring trust through education, security planning, and active systems monitoring are key components you will partipate. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, clinical/distribution, and customer care teams. As a Security Engineering Manager you will be working on solving security problems at a massive scale, participating in AHS security strategy, road-map planning and hiring/building a team of security engineers who are customer obsessed.As a Security Engineering Manager at AHS, you will help establish technical standards and drive AHS’s technical architecture and engineering practices through paved frameworks, Security architectures, and security standards. You’ll work on AHS’s hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound secure systems that are aligned with our business needs. You’ll think globally when building systems, ensuring AHS builds high performing, scalable, and secure systems that fit well together no matter the compliance regime that is applied. You should possess expertise that is deep and broad; you are hands on, producing both detailed technical work and high-level architectural designs. This role will be a direct report to the HealthSec Sr Manager for Engineering Services and will participate in new key forward looking strategic initiatives. Your position will provide opportunities to think big, be customer obsessed, and to partner with business teams across Amazon. We dive deep into security technologies such as new identity and authentication systems, hardware security components, cryptography, system hardening, machine learning and artificial intelligence (ML/AI), and massive-scale audit and log analysis. The objective of the AHS information security program is to define the innovative preventative, detective, and monitoring mechanisms to enable security individually and at scale. In this role, you will discover, define, and solve challenging problems across multiple teams, locations, disciplines and businesses. Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in direct people management - A well-rounded security background with 8+ years of experience in multiple security domains including application security, secure software or system design, secure architecture, and threat modeling. - 3+ years of management and mentorship of security engineering personnel

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with security architecture, DevSecOps Security, threat modeling, securing AWS Products and Services - Information security professional certifications encouraged (SANS GIAC, CISSP etc.) - Experience with how to incorporate threat, risk, costs, technology, business, and industry context into security solutions. - Strong track record of inventing, evolving, improving and simplifying security solutions. - Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role - Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role - Well versed in business risk analysis and making complex business/risk trade-off recommendations and decisions.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $140,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
