Job Description

Checkout.com is actively looking for a Manager, Financial Crime Compliance who will help support the Chief Compliance Officer of the US and the ongoing activities related to the Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs).  

This is an excellent opportunity to create immediate impact and progress your career in a fast-growing payments company, specializing in providing compliance data analytics to a global audience. Working closely with internal business, operations, risk and various functional key-colleagues, the role will be key in providing both a granular and C-suite level of management information related to the compliance function.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in state regulatory compliance exams and license maintenance as well as the ability to communicate internally and externally.  This person will also be a proactive and confident individual with strong analytical, organizational, technical skills, and one who can demonstrate the ability to exercise critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you'll also contribute to maintaining and improving our Money Transmitter Licensing function and state regulatory obligations. You’ll be responsible for helping to coordinate periodic reports as required for MTLs and assisting in state examination preparation.  Other duties may include analyzing data to identify trends that may be 

You'll be part of the Financial Crime Compliance department, and this role will work with teams, including Risk, Operations, Merchant Reviews, Product, Engineering and BI to name a few. 

How you’ll make an impact

  • Work closely with various teams (including Legal, Risk, Operations, and BI) 
  • Help maintain and administer state money transmitter licenses, including examinations, monthly and quarterly reporting, MSB Call Reports, and annual renewals
  • Perform analysis of data to identify trends, patterns and highlight potential issues
  • Work with state regulatory authorities to answer questions related to our MTLs
  • Contribute together with colleagues to produce insightful and automated dashboards in order to facilitate senior management’s decisions and understanding of the issues and/or achievements of the teams
  • Suggest ideas for improvements to the support process and infrastructure and strive to continually improve the process
  • Actively ensures compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all AML, BSA, information security, and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in required corporate and business line training.
  • Support the execution of the MTL processes and Risk Assessment and keep updated with the sanctions regulations changes
  • Assisting with internal and external audits

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of experience in compliance with financial services or Fintech
  • 3+ years of experience in NMLS, Money Transmitter Licenses, state compliance exams
  • Strong analytical skills, Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and Superb attention to details.
  • Standout colleague with strong collaborative qualities and a positive demeanor
  • Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, innovative organization, ideally in the payments industry 
  • Proactive attitude to suggest and to implement improvements ideas
  • Experience with various sanctions screening solutions
  • Comfortable with querying databases and creating management reports
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize work efficiently
  • Good communication skills and ability to summarize compliance information to senior team members

Additional Information

New York City law requires Checkout.com to include in job postings a reasonable estimated salary range for this position. However, final salaries may vary subject to several factors, such as a candidate’s level, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and proficiency for the role. Please note that this information is provided for those in New York City only, and this role is open to candidates outside of New York City as well.

For regular full-time employees in New York City, the estimated base salary range is from : $110,500 - $130,000 Our competitive salaries are just one component of Checkout.com’s total compensation package. Additional benefits include: health, vision, dental insurance, 401k, vacation and sick and safe time, learning days and volunteer days.
