Junior Software Engineer - Payments

We are Direct Payments team in DAZN - it is this team which is responsible for integrating with the Payment Service Provider(s) to enable any payment method on the DAZN platform. We ensure that the payment journey of a user is smooth and seamless. Payments anytime, anywhere is our motto. In addition to this, we are also responsible for the Fraud domain within DAZN.We are a backend team primarily working with JavaScript and AWS. Our team is based in Amsterdam with people from all over the world (6 nationalities and counting). We are currently building a secure backend payments platform that supports DAZN growth and facilitates the acquisition and retention of customers. We interface directly with other teams in DAZN and external suppliers to understand requirements and make conscious technical decisions.We are looking for Junior Backend Engineers who are passionate about building a modern, scalable and resilient platform.We give you autonomy over the software you build and offer you the freedom to choose the right tool for the job. In return, we expect you to take ownership of the systems you build, and that means:- You're responsible for the operational health of your services- You're empowered and encouraged to fix operational issues (i.e. there will be space for improvement work and bug fixes in the sprints)

• Build and maintain scalable microservices
• Collaborate with Product Managers, and other Software Engineers to deliver a compelling user experience
• Deliver maintainable, robust and testable code
• Share knowledge and collaborate with other developers across the business

You've got to have these essentials to do your job well...

• Minimum one year of working experience in a commercial environment
• Strong programming skills in Node.js
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Understanding of Git
• Passion for learning new skills!

It would be great if you had these desirable skills/experience too...

• Experience with AWS or another Cloud provider
• Experience with infrastructure and deployment automation
• Worked on large scale web applications
• Leverages and contributes to open source
