Junior Software Engineer - Monetization Platform

We are the Monetization Platform at DAZN which give user’s access to DAZN membership through flexible offers and purchase models that fit their needs. We manage the services which power DAZN's offers, promotion, revenue & billing capabilities.We are a backend department primarily working with JavaScript/TypeScript using AWS solutions. We are based in Amsterdam with people from all over the world. Our department is around 25+ people and growing. We enable the business to move faster by organising ourselves on technology/people. Our priority is customer success hence we make sure our services are resilient and highly available. We keep innovating in this space and we are looking for Junior Backend Engineers who are passionate about building a modern, scalable and resilient platform.We give you autonomy over the software you build and offer you the freedom to choose the right tool for the job. In return, we expect you to take ownership of the systems you build, and that means:- You're responsible for the operational health of your services- You're empowered and encouraged to fix operational issues (i.e. there will be space for improvement work and bug fixes in the sprints)

Here's what you will do (not all of it, just the important stuff!)

• Build and maintain scalable microservices
• Collaborate with Product Managers, and other Software Engineers to deliver a compelling user experience
• Deliver maintainable, robust and testable code
• Share knowledge and collaborate with other developers across the business

You've got to have these essentials to do your job well...

• Minimum one year of working experience in a commercial environment
• Strong programming skills in Node.js
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Understanding of Git
• Passion for learning new skills!

It would be great if you had these desirable skills/experience too...

• Experience with AWS or another Cloud provider
• Experience with infrastructure and deployment automation
• Worked on large scale web applications
• Leverages and contributes to open source
