Information Security - Who We Are

The Information Security organization advances the overall state of security at Rubrik through critical initiatives and coordination of large security projects. Information Security builds technologies, tools, and processes to better enable teams at Rubrik to develop secure software and protect data and systems with appropriate security controls. Information Security also develops systems to monitor and respond to attacks against our systems, provides awareness education to teams on security best practices for data protection, and ensures data sharing relationships with third parties in order to securely protect Rubrik information.

What You’ll Do:

Rubrik is seeking an Information Security Program Manager to be a part of our Information Security team that leads our Customer Trust, Supplier Security and Security Governance functions. As a member of our Information Security team, you will be a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for the execution and continuous maturity of these service areas. The successful candidate will need to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across the company. To achieve this you must have excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. By effectively managing information security contracts, this position contributes to maintaining a secure and compliant environment for the organization and its stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

The role of an Information Security Program Manager is crucial in ensuring the organization's information assets are adequately protected  and that all contractual obligations related to security are met. You will be part of a front-line Rubrik (external) customer facing function of security that focuses on responding to customer RFPs, customer audits and other customer requests that are related to Rubrik's enterprise or product security and compliance capabilities. In this role, you will:

  • Respond to security and compliance portions of customer RFPs in an accurate and timely fashion (i.e., within agreed upon internal SLAs).

  • Coordinate and work with other Information Security, Commercial Legal, Product Security and Engineering SMEs, as needed to respond to customers.

  • Support security and compliance related customer audits, as requested.

  • Be well-versed in Rubrik's products, particularly as they pertain to security and compliance features and secure SDLC practices.

  • Execute operational activities related to the maturity and measurement of the customer trust process to provide high quality services that enable sales at Rubrik.

  • Support the finalization of security and compliance language in customer contracts.

  • Develop, review, and negotiate information security contracts, including confidentiality agreements, data processing agreements, service level agreements and vendor contracts.

  • Ensure that all contracts align with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and monitor and enforce compliance with contractual obligations and information security policies.

  • Identify and address potential contractual risks and liabilities related to information security.

  • Stay up to date with emerging security threats and industry trends to proactively address security risks in contracts.

  • Collaborate with Procurement and Legal teams to evaluate potential vendors' security capabilities and assess their compliance with contractual security requirements.

  • Conduct regular vendor audits and security assessments to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and security standards.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and legal counsel during incident response activities.

  • Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on contractual security requirements, policies, and best practices.

  • Collaborate with the security awareness team to develop and deliver training materials and campaigns related to information security.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related work experience in Information Security Governance, Customer Trust and/or Legal in the tech industry.

  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts as it relates to security and compliance obligations

  • Bachelor's degree in Security, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly desirable.

  • Proven experience in contract management, preferably in the field of information security or technology.

  • Strong understanding of information security frameworks and compliance requirements, such as ISO 27001/2 (including ISO 27017 & 18), FedRAMP, SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria, CIS Top 20, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and NIST CSF / 800-53.

  • Familiarity with vendor management and the ability to evaluate and assess security controls implemented by third-party vendors.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and mitigate contractual risks and security vulnerabilities.

  • Understanding of incident response procedures and experience in managing security incidents and breaches.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.

  • Ability to meet demanding timelines and SLAs, manage changing priorities and execute tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Detail-oriented and able to understand the bigger picture by using your technical expertise and problem solving abilities to prioritize and manage blocking issues.

  • Able to discuss issues at technical and business levels with audiences of various backgrounds.

  • Experience in a high growth business environment is a plus, preferably in SaaS and data management industry.

The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US (SF Bay Area, DC Metro, NYC) Pay Range$168,000—$252,000 USDThe minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US2 (all other US offices/remote) Pay Range$151,200—$226,800 USD
