Ethics and Compliance - Internal Investigator

About the Role You will be part of the Ethics and Compliance (E&C) Team based in Jakarta, focusing on executing the internal investigations on a timely basis, in a confidential and professional manner, while working with cross-functional stakeholders and using a case management tool. Forensic research and analysis of corporate financial data to detect potential fraud or revenue losses, root cause analysis and working closely with the Internal Controls & Monitoring team to enhance controls.

What You Will Do

    • Manage a personal caseload of internal investigations assigned by his/her supervisor. Conduct thorough fact-finding investigations with a sense of urgency while maintaining objectivity and independence, memorialize findings into clear and concise investigative reports, and, when necessary, partner with colleagues on policy compliance and interpretation.  Minimal travel may be required.
    • Review financial documents to identify inaccuracies, and analyze financial data to trace discrepancies.
    • Perform investigation of complex business schemes and develop measures to avoid risks. Calculate revenue losses and damages from breaches٫and report on the results.
    • Prepare written reports and summary of findings, with supporting documentation, that is fair, impartially representing the facts, and investigatory analysis to determine whether the facts suggest the complaining party was subjected to behavior (or incident) that constitutes a violation of GoTo’s Code of Conduct.
    • Ensure all investigation data is accurately and timely entered into the case management system.  Create and submit a variety of correspondence as directed.  Follow-up with management and/or People & Culture (PAC) to ensure compliance with investigative recommendations.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding investigation matters, investigation files and data, department initiatives, and compliance issues.
    • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

What You Will Need

    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Law, or Business Administration from a reputable university with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in investigations, forensics, law enforcement, and risk and fraud risk assessment experience. Certification in Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
    • Deep knowledge of accounting and financial procedures, with good knowledge of accounting software (SAP) and spreadsheets
    • Possess excellent analytical, written, and oral communications skills, including the ability to synthesize, summarize and communicate important data in an objective and unbiased manner.
    • Excellent discretion, respect for confidentiality, and attention to detail.
    • Strong background in intelligence gathering, including familiarity and use of online resources, subscription services, public record checks, and familiarity with current social media and its usage. Proven research, audit, and/or investigation experience, including root cause analysis.
    • Expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and experience with data mining software such as ACL, Access, SQL, Business Objects, etc. preferred.
    • Able to work in rapidly changing internal and external environments and support business in a highly competitive and challenging market
    • Possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, curiosity, and strong learning agility
