Distribution Engineer

You will perform a key role at DAZN, managing the CDN configurations, CDN load balancing, and contributing to the growth and enhancement of DAZN’s service.We are looking for someone experienced in working with Video Streaming Technologies such as Content Delivery Networks. You will be working with the technical and operational, aspects of delivering OTT video content. You will have a strong understanding of media content delivery technology (including origin servers, CDN, and alternative delivery methods) and have a demonstrable track record in managing technology relationships with vendors and clients along with managing internal stakeholders.  Ideally, in a broadcaster environment, you will have experience working with the Operational, Technical, and Security aspects of delivering OTT video content and an understanding of OTT content delivery systems (including Security, SLL, WAF, Tokenization, CDN, ASN, ISP, Routing).Your teamYou will be part of the Distribution Engineering team which is directly involved and responsible for DAZN content delivery. As part of the Playback Experience group that looks after the entire playback chain from stadium to screen, the Distribution team leads the strategy, development, implementation, and management of content delivery systems.  This role is based in London. As our new Distribution Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Manage the security of third-party CDNs and Private caches.
• Support DAZN’s commercial teams for everything related to the security requirements.
• Technical documentation related to the security of the OTT solutions.
• On-board new CDN’s, OTT technologies, and systems.
• Technical requirements and troubleshooting for delivery via CDN through to ISP networks.   
• Communicate progress internally and work with several teams across the organization.         

You’ll be set up for success if you have:

• Experience with CDN technologies and private caching.
• Experience with Tokenization, hashing, and URL signing.
• Understanding of Watermarking solutions.
• Understanding of SSL certificates.
• Understanding of firewall logic and WAF.
• Experience creating, updating, and promoting internal documentation, and reports.
• Experience building and maintaining strategic long-term relationships with 3rd party vendors.
• Experience working with vendors and customers to deliver technology projects.
• Experience with video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH, Smooth Streaming).

Even better if you also have:

• Understanding of SSO and password management.
• Understanding of network security.
• Understanding of cloud providers and cloud solutions.
• Experience working in a Multi CDN operation.
• Experience extracting data from tools to validate the results of a project.
• Experience interpreting contracts and other legal documents.
• Understanding of tools like Terraform/GitHub.
• Relationship management experience.
• Experience working in a fast-paced global broadcast environment.
