Director, Leadership Academy (Hybrid - San Antonio, TX)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as the Head of the newly created Leadership Academy within Rackspace University. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive leadership development program with a primary focus on nurturing high-potential talent within the organization.

Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive leadership development strategy, aligned with organizational goals and delivering the respective development programs through the Leadership Academy within Rackspace University.
    • Manage and enhance the performance management process, including performance reviews, agile methodologies, check-ins, goal setting, and individual development plans.
    • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify key leadership competencies and integrate them into the performance management framework.
    • Lead the design and delivery of leadership training modules, workshops, and coaching sessions as part of the overall talent development strategy.
    • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in leadership skills and coordinate targeted development plans through the performance management system.
    • Drive succession planning initiatives, aligning them with the performance management process to identify and develop emerging leaders.
    • Cultivate and sustain partnerships with external leadership development experts and organizations to incorporate cutting-edge practices into talent development and performance management.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of talent development and performance management programs through metrics, feedback mechanisms, and an on-going continuous improvement process in order to making necessary adjustments and program enhancements.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to the leadership development team, HRBPs and Leaders ensuring a cohesive approach to talent development and performance management.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, leadership theories, and best practices to continually enhance the Leadership Academy and performance management processes.

Qualifications

    • Typically requires 10+ years of experience to gain and demonstrate the needed skills and abilities to operate at the scope and responsibility level of the role
    • Proven experience in talent development, with a focus on leadership development and performance management processes.
    • Strong understanding of leadership competencies and their integration into performance management frameworks.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage leaders at all levels in the performance management process.
    • Experience designing and delivering leadership training programs within the context of performance management.
    • Ability to analyze data and measure the impact of talent development and performance management initiatives.
    • Strategic thinking to align talent development and performance management strategies with organizational goals.
    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments to enhance overall performance.
    • Advanced degree in HR, Organizational Development, or a related field is preferred.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others in both talent development and performance management.
    • Previous experience working in a start-up environment, and/or proven experience working on a large scale turnaround or corporate transformation.
    • Continuous learner with a passion for staying updated on industry trends and innovations in talent development and performance management.
