Contract Specialist

Contract Specialist understands, reviews, drafts, and reviews moderately complex contracts. Recommends and implements contract updates and changes based on needs. Understands cloud technology (AWS) and understands policies related to processes and guidelines with contract delivery and contract servicing for cloud providers. Owns the workflow of the contract, from drafting to fully executed. Has the expertise and interpersonal skills to navigate multiple stakeholder engagements through the process and can recommend improvements when needed while maintaining a library of contract templates and archive of executed contracts. Responsible for adhering to Rackspace security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManage the workflow of the contract, from drafting (based on a template library) to full execution. Liaise with various stakeholders (e.g., sales, support, product, legal, finance, etc.) as needed to meet critically firm deadlines. Master the MSP vendor–customer contract relationship and processes while working on multiple contracts simultaneously in various stages. Ensures sales and support teams and/or other stakeholders understand and adhere to the various AWS (Amazon Web Services) or GCP (Google Cloud) policies, processes, and guidelines for contract delivery and contract servicing. Builds and maintains relationships with cloud partners, internal or external stakeholders. Manages/tracks internal tickets related to contract delivery and contract servicing. Review/approve quotes through a quote management system ensuring contract alignment.  Evaluate and improve current processes and/or create new processes as technology and programs change while maintaining necessary documentation and wikis. Expected to collaborate daily with team members and other business units regularly across the organization. Expected to respond promptly to email/Slack/Teams. Communicating with the direct team regarding contract status and any additional pertinent updates. Be agile and learn to navigate the system, tools, and organization. Have a can-do attitude and eagerness to learn, grow and excel within Rackspace and the cloud industry.

• Detailed understanding of contracting process workflow
• Knowledge of and experience with various contract frameworks, structures, and concepts
• Understanding and experience with flow-down obligations/requirements
• Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own job discipline and broader capabilities
• Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
• Ability to follow company processes and procedures
• Strong project and time management skills.

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal
• Able to demonstrate innovative problem-solving and critical thinking
• It is a plus if you have worked with cloud technology, terminology, and cloud ecosystem (AWS/ GCP)
