Sr Cybersecurity Analyst

The Cybersecurity Analyst  positions will be members of Protective Life’s Information Security team. The Analyst will be responsible for support and maintenance of the companies information security defense systems. They will also be involved in the information security incident response process, and perform analysis of these incidents.  As a  Senior Analyst they will be responsible for performing advanced malware and network analysis.

Primary Job Functions

  • Packet Capture analysis
  • Reverse Engineering Malware
  • Analyze Web Application Attacks
  • Analyze threat intelligence.
  • Investigate new vulnerabilities
  • Microsoft and Unix event log analysis
  • Web server log analysis
  • SQL Server analysis
  • Respond to IT security incidents.
  • Analyze threat intelligence.
  • Configure and Monitor Network Intrusioin Preventions (IPS) and Security Information Event Management systems.
  • Provide backup support for all information security defense systems.
  • Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of IPS and SEIM environments.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and associated training for defense system resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery, and appropriate use.
  • Contribute to overall Information Security department strategy.
  • Propose, design and implement secure architecture strategies to meet business needs while preserving the security model.

Work Experience, Education, Certification/Training Required

  • Information Security Certification required.
  • GIAC Certification preferred.
  • Minimum seven years experience in Information Security.
  • Minimum five years experience with advanced Information Security defense systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Solid technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, and TCP/IP.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to conduct research into security issues and products as required.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Highly self motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Performance-Based Compensation: This position is eligible for an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance. Note: Pursuant to Colorado law, Protective is providing the applicable salary range for Colorado residents.  Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees. This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance as well as a 401k match and a pension plan.Employee Benefits:  We aim to protect our employees' wellbeing through a broad benefits offering.
