SOC Manager Gaming Services

Job Summary: PTW, a leading company in the gaming industry, is seeking an experienced SOC Manager to oversee and lead our Security Operations Center (SOC). The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to create runbooks, provide training for the SOC L1 team (who will serve as SOC team members), and manage SOC tools effectively. As a hands-on leader, the SOC Manager will play a critical role in maintaining the security posture of our organization, specifically in the context of gaming industry challenges, and ensuring effective incident response and threat detection. This position will report to the Director of Cyber Security.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the Security Operations Center.
• Develop, implement, and maintain SOC processes, procedures, and run books for incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management, tailored to the unique security challenges of the gaming industry.

• Conduct regular training sessions for the SOC L1 team to enhance their skills and knowledge in SOC operations within the gaming context.
• Monitor and analyze security events and incidents to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and risks specific to the gaming industry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve security policies, standards, and guidelines that align with gaming industry requirements.
• Manage and maintain SOC tools and technologies, ensuring their optimal performance and effectiveness within a gaming environment.
• Stay up to date with the latest security trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies specific to the gaming industry to continuously improve the SOC's capabilities.

• Coordinate and conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans, considering gaming industry risks and compliance requirements.
• Lead incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, and recovery, with a focus on minimizing impact to gaming services and assets.
• Prepare and present regular reports on SOC performance, incident trends, and security metrics within the gaming industry context to senior management.

Requirements

• • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) working in a security operations environment.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management within the gaming industry.
  • Experience in creating runbooks, procedures, and documentation for SOC processes, taking into account gaming industry challenges.
  • Ability to provide training and mentorship to SOC L1 team members, specifically in the context of SOC operations for gaming companies.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SOC tools, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, threat intelligence platforms, SOAR, etc., within a gaming environment.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common security technologies, with a focus on gaming industry requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure within the gaming context.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, considering gaming industry terminology and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously within the gaming industry.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and inspire a team, specifically in the gaming industry.
