Senior Technical Program Manager - Privacy Engineering - Seattle or U.S. Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Lead large-scale company-wide privacy engineering projects, ensuring successful completion within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Lead the development of privacy frameworks and procedures for our organization, ensuring agreement on relevant privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of privacy frameworks and procedures, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and threat modeling exercises to identify privacy risks and vulnerabilities in our products and processes.
  • Develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs to educate employees on the importance of privacy and their responsibilities in maintaining compliance.
  • Collaborate with teams, including legal, security, product development, engineering and operations, to establish best practices for privacy engineering and embed privacy by design principles throughout the organization.
  • Work with security teams to ensure that privacy and security are integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Establish relationships with team members, customers, suppliers, and external partners, serving as the primary contact.
  • Mentor Program Managers within the Engineering team.
  • Report to the Engineering Manager, Privacy Organization.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant program management experience, with a focus on developing privacy frameworks and leading privacy programs across an organization.
  • MBA or equivalent experience; advanced degree or privacy certification (e.g., CIPP, CIPT).
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations, principles, and best practices, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and Privacy by Design.
  • Experience conducting privacy impact assessments, threat modeling, and risk assessments.
  • Experience in tools relating to privacy engineering and Cloud (AWS or Equivalent).
  • Familiarity with information security concepts and best practices.
  • Expertise in gathering functional requirements and converting them into detailed functional specifications and program plans.
  • Experience in people management and team development.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $120,000 - $150,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
