Senior Software Engineer, Privacy Engineering - Seattle or U.S. Remote

Responsibilities: 

• Oversee the technical strategy and systems of the privacy engineering team.
• Design and implement privacy-enhancing features, tooling and mechanisms for our software products, ensuring compliance with relevant privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and threat modeling exercises to identify privacy risks and vulnerabilities in our products.
• Develop privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines for our products and internal processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for privacy engineering across the organization.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure that privacy and security are integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Design for technical scale, write system design specs and implement privacy systems through code.
• Lead other engineers through mentoring and code reviews.
• Report to the Engineering Manager, Privacy Organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent experience.
• 5+ Years of Full-stack software development experience with both backend and frontend technologies.
• 5+ years of experience in security or privacy and Cloud (AWS or equivalent).
• 3+ years of experience building privacy tooling.
• Experience design and implement software solutions at scale in programming languages - Golang and Java.
• Experience implementing privacy-enhancing features and mechanisms, such as encryption, data anonymization, and access controls.
• Lead projects end-to-end and implement solutions involving multiple technologies and systems.
• Can find and address privacy and security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with privacy and security principles, regulations, and best practices, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $159,090 - 210,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
