Cruise is looking for a Senior Security Software Engineer to join our Risk & Assurance team to help Cruise build trust with regulators, investors, internal Cruise teams, and customers. In this position, you will focus on automating controls and processes critical to Cruise’s Security Risk & Assurance program and on building Cruise’s Trust Scorecard. The Trust Scorecard is an effective way to embed Security within the organization and drive buy-in from teams across Cruise to significantly improve adoption and implementation of security controls. You will develop methods to transparently report the effectiveness of security controls directly to Cruise teams and service owners and amplify the work and effectiveness of security by engaging all Cruisers to take ownership of security. What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and implementing software to provide continuous monitoring and reporting on Cruise’s security controls across the organization
• Designing and implementing technical controls to support various security audits
• Identifying manual processes ripe for automation and technical enforcement
• Creating delightful user experiences and interactions with security
• Building automation to make security more accessible for end users
• Ideating on complicated security problems and independently developing end to end solutions

What you must have: 

• Exceptional communication skills with cross functional teams and design documentation
• 4+ years experience with one or more modern programming languages (Go, Python, etc.), and the ability to pass difficult coding interviews
• Infectious enthusiasm for identifying manual processes that are ripe for automation
• Action oriented, analytical, troubleshooter, problem solver, motivator

Bonus points! 

• Experience with SQL
• Strong understanding of security controls, architecture, and implementation
• Experience with a security compliance program
• Contributions to community projects (open source, public research, blogging, presentations, etc)
• Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or business technology

The salary range for this position is $168,000 - 247,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
