Senior Fleet Safety Incident Response Manager

Mission Summary:

As part of our Safety Management Systems (SMS) Engineering team, The Senior Fleet Incident Response Manager will help us deliver the future by assuring the safety of our self-driving vehicles, employees, and passengers. This role will work cross-functionally to build, develop, and operate a model of fleet Incident Response that will allow us to quickly respond to events that impact our self-driving fleet.  This role will also assist and lead investigations in active incident scenarios, supporting the organization through the fleet Incident Response process. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide expertise and lead the cross-functional Incident and Grounding Response team
  • Execute against the Incident Response Plan and fleet Grounding/Ungrounding Procedures
  • Key Liaison between all critical organizational functions (deployments, legal, commercial safety, etc)
  • Leads Safety Investigation for all fleet incident events
  • Partner with Safety Risk Management to characterize and document residual risks throughout Grounding / Ungrounding and Incident Processes
  • Constructs detailed incident investigation reports and post mortems for executive leadership and as required for external bodies
  • Key partner for incident response relationships with Cybersecurity, GSOC, and Workplace Safety
  • Continuously improves internal processes for Safety Investigations, Incident Response, and fleet Grounding / Ungrounding with a focus on managing risks and improving efficiency
  • Develop dashboards to report safety metrics and process / program key performance indicators
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in incident response or critical response initiatives
  • Experience executing in high pressure and high visibility scenarios
  • Experience as a Program Manager for highly cross-functional initiatives 
  • Innovative mindset for solving challenges from new or unexpected scenarios
  • Comfort and experience creating and presenting executive facing content 

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher  in an engineering discipline, or equivalent knowledge and work experience required.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs. Salary Range$118,100—$174,500 USD
