The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Security Engineer for the Security Incident Response Engineering team to build tool sets, automate workflows to take Datadog’s response capabilities to the next level. The mission of Security Incident Response Engineering is to rapidly respond to, and contain breach attempts from threat actors in a highly automated fashion.You will build and own solutions to quickly contain and eradicate threats, and streamline our security incident response processes with the business. You will establish metrics that demonstrate continuous improvements of the Security Incident Response Engineering capabilities and execute on your proposed strategy for improvements.

You’ll join at an ideal time to make a big impact, the product is seeing very high growth, with many new features to build as well as a need for scaling up dramatically.

You Will:

  • Improve the company’s ability to respond to threats through technology selection, internal product development and implementations with a heavy emphasis on automation of manual tasks and processes.
  • Respond to Security Incidents of varying severities and complexity
  • Develop processes, procedures and playbooks that will be used during an incident response process
  • Partner with Datadog’s product management team by becoming a customer of our security products and champion areas of improvement
  • Detailed process management to ensure audit trails of activities are reviewed, follow policy and audit requirements
  • Represent Datadog in the digital forensics and incident response community

You Are:

  • Skilled in programming using Python and/or Go
  • Knowledgeable in designing tools, systems, and automated workflows for Incident Response programs
  • Experienced in responding to security incidents
  • A strong communicator and speaker
  • Willing to work in past-paced, high-growth environment

Bonus Points:

  • CISSP, CISM, GCIH, or similar certifications
  • Built out detection and response programs for a SaaS or cloud-native company
  • Led large incident response situations in the past
  • You are confident representing your ideas and opinions in a manner that can be challenged and respond to feedback well
  • Experience with speaking in public forums

The Security Engineer - Incident Response Engineering position has an annual starting salary of $135,000, and a competitive equity package.
