POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Security Engineer is part of the Security Operations team and is responsible for working with the information security team and the local team on remediating current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities and threat intelligence. We are looking to hire a cyber security engineer with an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of cybersecurity methodologies to tackle complex technical issues with experience working in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate is a team player and will bring their know-how to help improve Hex Trust’s Cyber Security Maturity and help drive our risk and compliance frameworks. Ideally the candidate would also be exposed to some level of performing physical security risk assessments for the office and conduct annual security risk assessments for office

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, execute and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
• Maintaining all the software and hardware concerning security.
• Troubleshooting security and network problems.
• Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities hosted on cloud services.
• Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities on on-premises.
• Provision and maintain monitoring systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
• Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.
• Identifying current and emerging technology issues, including security trends, vulnerabilities, and threat intelligence.
• Sourcing and implementing new security solutions to better protect the organization.
• Conducting proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate mitigating strategies.
• Liaising with vendors to implement security solutions.

Requirements

• A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
• Expertise across a variety of security products, including firewalls, URL filtering, information security, and virus protection
• Work experience with incident detection, incident response, and forensics.
• Experience with system virtualization and Endpoint Security.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
• Excellent awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
• The commercial acumen to provide cost-effective security solutions
• An enthusiasm for staying up to date with the very latest updates about security threats and solutions.
• Understanding of Linux Operating Systems.
• Understanding of Kubernetes and Docker.
