Overview:As a MongoDB DBA with ObjectRocket, you will have the opportunity to troubleshoot and resolve various customer issues related to performance, schema design, cluster topology, and application design. Working with the customers, you will learn what challenges they face, help triage, and implement solutions that resolve their technical challenges. You will perform technical work that requires coordination, testing, and scheduling. At times, immediate debugging and resolution are necessary to resolve an urgent request. All while ensuring data integrity and stability are the top priority for the customer. You will also interact daily with both colleagues on customers via Microsoft Teams to answer general questions or requests. You will interact with members of our Support organization, Technical Account Managers, and Site Reliability Engineers to meet the demands of our customers. Leveraging your expertise, you will provide guidance and recommendations internally and externally to meet the needs of our customers. Knowledge:Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, and statistics. Proficient in troubleshooting issues related to CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other types of resource contention. Understand explain() to troubleshoot performance issues. Knowledge of CRUD syntax and Aggregation Framework. Understanding of replication, vertical scaling, horizontal scaling, and DR. Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills. Strong knowledge of backup design and support. Expert skill in MongoDB server 4.4, 4.2, 4.0, 3.6. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with production DBA and managing multiple databases. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent communications skills; written, verbal, and presentation. Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations.You Will:Install, configure, patch, maintain and upgrade MongoDB, Elasticsearch and other database environmentsSetup and monitor backupsImplement and test recovery techniquesDiagnose and troubleshoot database environmentFine-tune MongoDB environment or make tuning recommendationsYou Have:MongoDB (Configure, Tune, Upgrade, Recovery)Experience with MongoDB ShardingExperience with MongoDB Query and Index TuningExperience with MongoDB ReplicationExperience with Linux Operating SystemExperience with Database MonitoringExperience with JavaScript (i.e. mongo client)Nice to have: Experience with ElasticExperience with networking and virtualization Experience with troubleshooting hardwareExperience with configuration management softwareExperience with at least one programming languageExperience with MongoDB security best practicesAutomation/ScriptingEducation/ExperienceA Highschool Diploma or equivalent is required.A Bachelor's degree in software development, database programming, or computer engineering is preferred. 3+ years managing production MongoDB workloads, ideally in a customer-facing role or 5+ years in production database admin with advanced MongoDB knowledge.General Remote Environment. Moderate levels of stress may occur at times. It may require long periods of sitting and viewing a computer monitor No physical demands are required. On- Call Rotation is required with the possibility during holidays as required by the business for 24/7 support: occasional travel, less than 10%.The following information is required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, New York City Pay Transparency Act, Washington Pay Transparceny Act and California Pay Transparency Act. This applies only to individuals working in the state of Colorado, Washington, California and New York City. The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado, California, Washington and New York City applicants for this role is $116,100-$170,280 for CO and $135,300 – $198,400 for NYC, WA and CA. Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time.
