If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.We are currently seeking a Localization Engineering Manager in China.  This position requires an experienced professional with a software internationalization and localization management skills. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The Role

    • Leading and defining the localization process and infrastructure implementation
    • Drive localization tasks with high degree of independence and reliability
    • Track localization status on translation and quality
    • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, vendors across regional marketing teams on localization needs.
    • Develop and manage automated localization process to minimize repetitive tasks and decrease time-to-market for localization
    • Develop and manage localization QA processes (manual and automated) ensure delivery of high-quality and natural experiences for content across the globe.
    • Review, prioritize, and track Jira tasks and issues that affect localized content relevancy, quality, and functionality
    • Process and track translations feedback from regional teams throughout the world.
    • Form a strong process to report on shared goals, including metrics and feedback loops, and other operational needs, within our team and with cross-functional partners

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent technical degree
    • 8+ years of relevant localization industry experience
    • 5+ years of proven ability in localization engineering, project management and localization quality testing, including vendor management experience and passion for establishing standards of excellence.
    • Deep understanding of localization and translation systems with ability to think across layers of the stack.
    • Sound Technical understanding of software development and QA cycles
    • Deep understanding of QA automation frameworks
    • Strong organizational and coordination skills to get things done in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and ability to stay focused under pressure
    • Experience managing medium to large-scale projects and sometimes, vendor relationships.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Experience working on Localization and Internationalization Projects
    • Engineering experience in development and shipping software on consumer devices
    • Willingness to learn new technologies in any area of the stack: UI, Rendering, Core, Server
    • Experience with source code management, unit test, code review, and issue tracking systems
    • Experience working with technologies like Translation Management Systems (TMS), Python, Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript, i18n libraries, ICU, Unicode
    • Results-oriented, with an aptitude of moderation and reconciliation, a positive outlook and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    • Bilingual (Mandarin/English)
