Lead Security Engineer (SecOps)

What You'll Do: 

As the Lead Security Engineer you will help lead a high-performing team to protect and defend from cyber threats. You will provide hands-on expertise, in day-to-day security operations (SecOps) including monitoring, reporting, threat intelligence, threat hunting and incident response.

  • Lead and mentor the security operations efforts to effectively prepare, detect, and respond to incidents
  • Serve as escalation point to managed service providers that perform reporting, detection, and response services
  • Update, socialize, and lead activities as they relate to the enterprise-wide incident response plan
  • Develop and maintain SOC processes and procedures to ensure consistent and effective operations
  • Provides oversight of security operations to support security monitoring, protection, and delivery of security services throughout the organization.
  • Builds and manages relationships with diverse stakeholders including senior-level technical and non-technical staff.
  • Produces and reviews key performance indicators (KPI) of security operations performance and distribute executive metrics
  • Initiates and leads the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) by responding to critical security incidents and leading escalation teams with response, containment and remediation.
  • Provides guidance to develop, maintain and promote a set of security operations playbooks with internal IT teams and external working groups to effectively trigger and execute the security incident response process
  • Escalates issues to leadership in a timely manner with appropriate information regarding risk, action times and root cause analysis
  • Mentors other IT and INFOSEC professionals

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Proven ability to lead and apply cybersecurity operations best practices – 8+ years of relevant,progressive experience
  • Experience working in a SOC environment.
  • Experience with Splunk, Darktrace, Crowdstrike Falcon or similar technologies preferred
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally, with various levels above and below,internally and externally, and to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtainingresults
  • Ability to rapidly resolve issues and recognize when escalation is necessary
  • Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure cloud security
  • Certification in one or more of the following areas: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, SSCP, CEH, GCIH, GCIA,GCFA
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related area from four-year College or University; oreight (8) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education andexperience.

Target Base Compensation: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 + bonus

Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for Colorado-based hires only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. Billtrust intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience and location.
