It’s a practice that’s earned us industry accolades and helped contribute to our double-digit bottom-line growth.RoleTrail of Bits is seeking a Head of People Operations who will own and drive all aspects of human resources, including recruiting, retention, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, compensation strategy, and diversity, inclusion, and belonging strategy in a remote first and globally located team. You will be a key strategic partner and influential contributor to the executive team, partnering with company leadership to build a world-class culture. We’re seeking an experienced HR professional who is excited to build effective systems from the ground up for a growing business. You’ll work directly with our executive and operations teams to set and implement HR strategies throughout the organization.  Our unique and flexible culture within our industry has been a strategic asset for Trail of Bits since day one; we’ll look to the new Head of People Operations to help us preserve the most valuable aspects of this culture as we grow, while simultaneously pushing us to improve. 

Responsibilities

    • Understand the Trail of Bits vision and culture to become a steward of our guiding principles in the practice of People Operations, which includes protecting the employee and company by humanizing impersonal systems and continuously improving engagement, development, wellness, and retention.
    • Drive People Operations and HR compliance, program implementation, and operationalization, as well as the execution of day-to-day People Operations processes across recruiting, benefits, compensation, engagement, global policies, and HRIS systems.
    • Understand short- and long-term organizational goals and recommend implementation plans, new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in development of HR within the organization.
    • Manage the recruiting process, ensuring that the supply for new qualified engineers matches internal demand and working as a business partner to team leads.
    • Oversee the hiring and onboarding process, ensuring excellent employee experience.
    • Administer performance management, organizational development, and talent retention initiatives.
    • Find innovative ways to improve and enhance our company culture while nourishing it as we grow. Oversee the design, development, and integration of smart, scalable programs, policies, systems, and procedures that support the employee lifecycle, and focus on affecting organizational change while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
    • Partner with VP of Operations for the overall diversity, inclusion, and belonging strategy.
    • Manage total rewards programs and analysis for the organization, providing benchmarking and compensation recommendations and strategic benefits planning.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and legislation to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements and business compliance.
    • Oversee international employment contracts and benefits administration.
    • Continuously collect and action against metrics that help us improve (surveys, hiring and compensation statistics, benchmarking, etc.).

Requirements

    • Passionate about people, workplaces, and culture with 10 years of progressive people operations experience with at least four years in a leadership capacity, preferably at a global technology company.
    • Track record of developing forward-thinking human resources and talent acquisition strategies and initiatives, and of successfully scaling strong company culture; ideally, you've helped a company grow from 100 to 200 people.
    • You're an approachable, active listener who inspires trust and confidence from leaders and individual contributors.
    • Strong program/project management orientation to develop streamlined human resources programs and processes.
    • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and act as a strategic and tactical team player.
    • Highest ethical standards, integrity, credibility, and character.
    • Self-motivated and engaged team player with strong interpersonal capabilities.
    • Experience working with engineers or otherwise highly technical individuals.
    • People Operations tech stack management, HRIS, ATS, total rewards, performance management tools.
