Geotab is seeking a Government Security Operations Specialist who will  be responsible for development and maintenance of Geotab System Security Plans, as well as communicating with customers to advise on Geotab security posture and programs. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you!What you'll do:As a Government Security Operations Specialist your key area of responsibility will be to achieve security compliance, implement best practices, and mitigate risk across the organization, specifically as relates to the Geotab government environment(s). To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Comfortable leading compliance related discussions around system architectures, and impact of changes on security control requirements (technical and non-technical).
  • Ability to perform risk assessment of proposed and existing system architectures for compliance with security controls and best practices, recommending technical, administrative and physical controls to mitigate any identified risks.
  • Able to lead/support the development, assessment, and analysis of security documentation in accordance with both certification and company standards.
  • Owns the Geotab Government System Security Plans for each environment and works with crossfuntional teams to architect solution improvements and changes, while maintaining compliance with standards.

What you’ll bring to this role:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Information Security from a reputable institution highly valued.
  • 3-5 years experience in security evaluation/analysis and/or risk assessments, specifically in Government Security Certifications (FedRAMP).
  • Expert-level  knowledge of Cloud Computing (GCP knowledge preferred). Experienced with SaaS, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and related terminology, in particular as it relates to Information Security.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Security Compliance Frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST 800-53 and in particular FedRAMP.
  • Experience and understanding of security tool use, particularly vulnerability management using tools such as Tenable Nessus, Fortify, Crowdstrike etc…
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an independent manner.
  • Able to own and author content/reports/attestations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, remote environment.
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
