Engineering Manager, Product Security

The Product Security organization ensures that Snowflake products are built and shipped with the highest security. The anti-abuse team in the Product Security org will scan and assess apps running on the Snowflake platform. 

In this role, you will hire new talent, mentor and grow team members and define the team culture. You will work with cross-functional partners to define the multi-year strategy and lead the implementation of abuse detection at Snowflake. You will oversee the design and implementation of new processes and scanning pipelines to ensure the safety of our customers on our platform. This is a unique opportunity to bootstrap and build a new initiative that is core to the success of Snowflake’s business as a whole.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hire top technical talent, manage and mentor team members
  • Partner with product, security and engineering teams to build a strategic roadmap for scalable anti-abuse at Snowflake
  • Define and build processing pipelines and heuristics for static and dynamic analysis of apps
  • Oversee the design and implementation of necessary tools and services
  • Lead and manage team’s priorities, deadlines and deliverables.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience leading and managing teams and setting technical direction.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience designing, testing, and maintaining security solutions and/or anti-abuse scanning pipelines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Experience in building and managing anti-abuse teams
  • Experience building large-scale pipelines and infrastructure for performing static analysis, code auditing, and malware detection on apps.
  • Experience in application-level vulnerability testing and code-level security auditing.
  • Programming experience in Python, C/C++, Java or Go.
  • Knowledge of security engineering, computer and network security, authentication, security protocols, and applied cryptography.
