Cybersecurity SME (Active TS Clearance)

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Cybersecurity SME (Active TS Clearance) to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

The Cybersecurity SME (Active TS Clearance) will be a part of a program that provides services for the Department of Homeland Security. This will be a high visibility role within DHS CISA.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance and be able to obtain an SCI. Must be located in the DC, VA, MD area and willing to go onsite when required to Arlington VA.

Duties

• Provide general cybersecurity subject mater expertise on a variety of topics to support the Cyber Secuirty Safety Review Board (CSRB).
• Collect and analyze public and nonpublic documents, reports, assessments, and other records regarding cyber incidents.
• Prepare written analysis of cyber incidents to include factual record of events, technical analysis of causes and responses to cyber incidents, and recommendations.
• Provide general cybersecurity subject matter expertise on a variety of topics in support of Board activities, including development of white papers on cybersecurity related topics, subcommittee support, and ensure technically accurate and readable notes from all Board meetings and subcommittee meetings.
• Provide fact and skill-specific cybersecurity subject matter expertise on a variety of topics in support of Board activities, including preparation of technical questions for requested speakers and in support of requests for information, technical analysis and summaries of information received from requests for information, research on cybersecurity issues and threats, and present or prepare presentation materials, summary documents, talking points, and other information for Board meetings and subcommittee meetings.
• Conduct cybersecurity background research and ananlysis in support of board activities.
• Present cybersecurity concepts and themes to high level executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Systems or related scientific /technical discipline
• Must have 10 years of relevant experience
• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
• Lives locally to the DC, VA, MD area
• Able to present cybersecurity concepts and themes
• Extensive IT experience in all aspects of Cybersecurity with a vast array of IT systems involving end user as well as enterprise level networks
• Experience with Operating Platforms such as Windows, Linux and Mac
• Knowledgeable in NIST SCAP (CVEs, CCEs, CPEs) and MITRE ATT&CK Framework
• Experience in designing and implementing systems that meet agency Cybersecurity policy and regulations
• Extensive experience in Cybersecurity tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks
• Experience with Zero Trust not required but a nice to have
