Cybersecurity Incident Response Manager

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Cybersecurity Incident Response Manager to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

The Cybersecurity Incident Response Manager will lead a large 24/7/365 cybersecurity incident response team for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Duties

  • Lead and manage the cybersecurity incident response (IR) task area for the VA Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC)
  • Act as primary customer Point of Contact (POC) for IR task area
  • Work with the Operations Manager and Shift Leads to ensure we are providing optimal staff and services across all IR shifts
  • Support the hiring, management, mentoring, and training of IR staff
  • Define strategic goals to drive towards improvements to incident response
  • Develop tactical plan to achieve strategic goals and improve metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage the collection, analysis, and dissemination of metrics and KPIs via reports and dashboards
  • Manage incident response related program risks and issues and works with subordinate leads on the development and implementation of corrective action plans
  • Manage the creation of all contractual deliverables for task area
  • Manage and supports strategic communications and up channel reporting for task area

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • 10+ years of experience in large-scale IT related service delivery
  • 3+ years of experience working in an enterprise-level Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, and GCDA are a plus
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools like Splunk and Microsoft Defender
  • Experience with enterprise ticketing systems like ServiceNow
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to identify errors, pinpoint root causes, and devise solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to learn and function in multiple capacities and learn quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience communicating to executives and VIP-level stakeholders.
