Come join us!The Attorney - Privacy, Data and Product Compliance is responsible for providing advice and counsel on legal and regulatory requirements and establishing standards for D&B business data assets and products worldwide, with a focus on North America.  Attorney, Privacy, Data and Product Compliance delivers legal, compliance and ethics practices insights and expertise on privacy and data protection, artificial intelligence, credit reporting, data transfer and localization, content restrictions, advertising and sales, data and records retention, data security, and accessibility requirements related to our D&B data assets and our products. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Key member of the Global Compliance & Ethics (GCE) team in North America and a member Data and Product Compliance Center of Excellence. Reporting to the Managing Attorney, Data and Product Compliance, the Attorney will be responsible for coordinating the development and overseeing the effective implementation of D&B product, tech, and data compliance regulatory, policy, privacy, compliance, and ethics standards with a focus on North America.  
  • Core areas of responsibility that the Attorney will lead include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing advice and counsel related to the following regulatory legal areas affecting our data and products: privacy and data protection, data security, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital accessibility, data transfer and localization, data retention, records retention, advertising and marketing and content regulation.
  • Supporting the Data and Product COE as a lead regulatory attorney for data and products in North America, including providing advice and counsel to North American data and product teams during conception, design, development and go to market.
  • Providing legal advice and counsel on appropriate sourcing, use and sharing of data from North America.
  • Working closely with the GCE Program and Operations team to ensure data flows and product risk are appropriately documented and analyzed.
  • Serving as a reviewer of impact assessments and controls for data and products in the North America.
  • Effective coordination with commercial legal team members on data, product, and privacy considerations in commercial contracting, promotional materials, and other go-to-market matters.
  • Coordinated tracking and communications to key stakeholders of proposed legislation and regulations, with a focus on North America, as well as enforcement actions regarding the regulatory legal areas relevant to our business activities at Dun & Bradstreet.
  • Coordination of program readiness and reporting on compliance with the regulatory legal areas, with a focus on North America. 
  • Management of compliance risk assessments related to the regulatory legal areas.

Experience & Competencies

  • Privacy, Data and Product Compliance has more than a decade of legal and business practices experience related to data, product, and privacy matters.  The Attorney is a strong collaborator across a broad range of stakeholders and an influencer of cross-functional efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Minimum 5 years of legal experience, preferably some in-house, with at least 3 years of experience in one or more regulatory disciplines such as privacy, data protection, or data and product compliance.
  • Additional relevant compliance qualifications and certifications, such as CIPP/US or CIPM, preferred but not required.
  • Experience with digital marketing products and regulatory landscape a plus.
  • Customer-focused, commercial-oriented, and innovation mindset.
  • Comfortable translating complex legal requirements into operational controls for business and technology teams.
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong aptitude for evaluating a range of risks and effectively communicating relevant impact to business owners.

  • Willingness to engage deeply with data, product, and technology teams on data and technology matters.
  • Comfortable communicating with prospects, customers, and other constituents about data and compliance.
  • Risk management experience preferred.
  • Agile, scrum, lean six-sigma or other operational excellence experience a plus
